As of the morning of September 2nd, many neighborhood groups in Thanh Khe Ward, Da Nang, reported that they had not yet received the gift of VND 100,000 per person on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2nd.

Mr. N.D.H from Group 28 shared that his family, along with many other households, was curious about the delay. While other localities had distributed the gifts starting from August 31st, it was not until that evening that the ward began issuing forms for declaring demographic information.

On September 1st, residents submitted the forms to their respective groups, but as of now, they have not yet received the gifts. Groups 25, 29, and several others in the former Tan Chinh area also reported a similar situation.

Notice from a neighborhood group in Thanh Khe Ward regarding demographic information declaration for receiving National Day gifts

In a conversation with the Báo Người Lao Động reporter, Mr. Le Van Cuong, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thanh Khe Ward, affirmed that the ward had started the payment process and was not lagging. However, due to the large population and frequent overload of the data system, their progress was slower than some other localities.

Mr. Cuong mentioned that the ward prioritized following the proper procedures and ensuring accurate lists to deliver the gifts to the right recipients. “It’s impossible to complete the demographic data for such a large population overnight. To avoid crowds, the ward organized the gift distribution down to the neighborhood groups. Once the lists are finalized, the distribution will proceed swiftly,” Mr. Cuong stated.

According to Mr. Cuong, as of the evening of September 1st, the ward had disbursed about 30%-40% of the gifts and expected to finish by September 2nd. The delay was attributed to the necessity of scrutinizing and cross-referencing household information to prevent inaccuracies.

“There are cases where a household declared six members, but in reality, only four people reside there. If we don’t verify, mistakes can easily occur. We have to be thorough to submit a faultless list to the Ministry of Finance later,” Mr. Cuong explained.

The ward’s procedure involves gathering information, checking, creating accurate lists, and then allocating them to neighborhood groups for direct distribution. While this approach might be slightly slower, it ensures accuracy and completeness.

Mr. Cuong acknowledged that some residents were frustrated seeing other wards distribute gifts earlier, while Thanh Khe was still in the form-issuing phase. However, he affirmed that the ward’s officials were doing their best to finish before the holiday as directed.

“We hope that the people will understand the objective difficulties we face. The ward commits to distributing the gifts to the right recipients and on schedule,” Mr. Cuong emphasized.

Furthermore, the ward has mobilized its maximum capacity, with many officials setting aside personal plans to focus on this task.

On August 30th, the Da Nang People’s Committee decided to allocate more than VND 312 billion to the wards and communes for the National Day gift distribution, with a completion deadline of August 31st and September 1st.

In the accompanying list, Thanh Khe Ward received the highest allocation, with over VND 20 billion for 201,240 residents. Following that, Hai Chau Ward was allocated over VND 13 billion for 131,427 people.

During the allotted timeframe, many wards and communes in Da Nang completed the gift distribution, including Hoa Vang district and several communes in the former Quang Nam province.
