The world is also very interested in our unique celebrations. The participation in the parade showcased the strength of our armed forces, including the People’s Army and the People’s Public Security, and the most beautiful image was that of our people marching hand in hand.
The world is curious about the large turnout of our people, who eagerly awaited the parade and shared their experiences, something rarely seen elsewhere. The social order, security, and safety of our country and Hanoi during this time were also remarkable. The foreign press and journalists were amazed.
Comrade General Secretary To Lam emphasized the role of the people in his speech during the celebration at the historic Ba Dinh Square. His concise speech, consisting of approximately 1,480 words, mentioned the people 17 times, the nation 13 times, independence 10 times, and the homeland 9 times. One particularly memorable sentence from his speech was: “The strength belongs to the people, from the people, and for the people.”
Additionally, the exhibition, “80 Years of Independence, Freedom, and Happiness,” has attracted nearly 5 million visitors as of September 5th and is still ongoing.
The first significance of these activities is the affirmation that the path we have taken under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh for the past 80 years has been correct. We have gone through struggles to gain independence, freedom, and unify the country. Today, we have built a prosperous country that surprises and impresses other nations. This is the right path.
The second meaning is the faith in the Party’s leadership, the confidence in our forward trajectory, and the belief in the strength and great unity of our people, encompassing both hard and soft power and the internal strength of our nation.
The third significance is gratitude. As mentioned in Comrade General Secretary’s speech, we express our gratitude to our ancestors for building this nation and to those who sacrificed their blood and sweat over the past 80 years to create the country we have today. This gratitude is both a tradition of our people and a sign of our love for our country.
The fourth meaning is pride. The more patriotic the Vietnamese are, the more they participate in and witness these events, the prouder they feel. They take pride in their country, their people, their armed forces, their public security, and their beautiful cultural traditions.
During this time, our people also felt proud of the Party, State, and Government’s initiative to present gifts to every Vietnamese citizen on this occasion. The Vietnamese are also proud of the gestures of camaraderie and unity displayed by our people towards each other. Whenever someone started singing “As if Uncle Ho is here on this joyful victory day,” everyone joined in. This is a beautiful cultural trait of the Vietnamese people, demonstrating their patriotism.
The fifth significance is the arousal of a yearning to strive further, to develop more, and to live up to the sacrifices of our ancestors, the wishes of President Ho Chi Minh, and the expectations of our younger generation.
Comrade General Secretary To Lam mentioned that the children born at this time will be the owners of the country by 2045. Therefore, we must work together to build and develop Vietnam for our future generations. Implementing Resolution 71 contributes to this goal.
The sixth meaning is a message to the international community about a peaceful, independent, and friendly Vietnam, pursuing an independent, autonomous, multilateral, and diversified foreign policy. As a result, we contribute to peace, stability, and development in the region and the world.
From the perspective of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, we would like to share some figures related to the parade and procession. The Ministry commanded 4,600 people to form characters on the stands, 1,600 people in the Red Flag block, and 160 people in the procession, including representative artists and 80 singers from the three regions of North, Central, and South Vietnam. Additionally, 2,000 amateur performers participated in the artistic performance at the end of the ceremony.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all journalists, reporters, editors, and technicians from various press agencies for their active participation in promoting these events.
According to the Ministry’s statistics, there were 15,844 news articles about these events, creating a beautiful wave with hashtags such as “Radiant Vietnam” and “Proud of Vietnam.” We also had nearly 600,000 video clips shared, with 20 million likes, 2 million shares, and an impressive 1 billion views.
In his speech, Comrade General Secretary stated, “Developing the country by 2045 is a solemn vow to history and to the people.” This vow is made by all living Vietnamese to our ancestors, to those who have passed away, and to future generations.
