International Tourism, Trade, and Integration Festival: Unlocking Vietnam’s Economic Potential
A trilogy of pivotal events took place from September 4 to 6, 2025, themed “Green Connection – Sustainable Development.” This marked the first time that the three critical streams of tourism, trade, and international integration were united under one cohesive festival, creating a powerful boost for the economy.
The festival was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including former President Nguyen Minh Triet; Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh; former Vice President Truong My Hoa; former Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh; Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung; Chairman of the National Assembly’s Economic and Financial Committee Phan Van Mai; Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong; and Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuấn.

In his opening remarks, Minister Nguyen Van Hung emphasized that the 19th iteration of the HCMC International Tourism Festival had reached new heights in terms of scale and presentation, solidifying its reputation as a trusted national and regional brand. He also asserted Vietnam’s growing prominence on the international tourism map. The participation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Health highlighted the uniqueness of Vietnamese tourism products and fostered stronger links between businesses and the tourism industry in promoting ‘on-site exports,’ aligning with the Party and State’s 8% growth target.
This year’s festival also served as a bridge, helping nations find solutions to develop tourism, connect global destinations, and create diverse and appealing products to meet the rising demands of travelers. With an expected attendance of 28,000 visitors and 12,600 business appointments, the festival created a vibrant and productive environment, significantly contributing to attracting international visitors to Vietnam.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang noted that this was the first time central and local agencies, with Ho Chi Minh City taking the lead, had collaborated to organize such a comprehensive festival.

This festival promoted not only tourism but also Vietnamese products, businesses, and investment opportunities, as well as supply chain development in Vietnam, to friends and enterprises worldwide.
The harmonious blend of activities and seamless coordination between organizations created a synergistic appeal, drawing thousands of foreign business delegations to participate in the events over three days at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) and numerous other locations in Ho Chi Minh City and across the country.
“Today’s three events are not just about coming together, but also about forging new successes,” said Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang. “We believe that tourism will become a driving force for trade and investment, and that trade and investment will be the foundation for economic prosperity.”
Representing the local perspective, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Nguyen Van Dung, shared that after the merger with Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Binh Duong provinces, Ho Chi Minh City now spans 6,773 square kilometers, equivalent to 2.04% of the country’s area. With a population of nearly 14 million, the city has become a supercity and the nation’s epicenter of economics, finance, logistics, commerce, services, and tourism. Ho Chi Minh City accounts for 26.3% of the total retail revenue of goods and services and over VND 200,000 billion in tourism revenue, equivalent to 25% of the country’s total.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, this is the first time that the three significant streams of tourism, trade, and international integration have been connected into a large-scale and synchronized event, reflecting the close coordination between different levels and sectors. Today’s event is not just a “convergence” but also an intersection of Ho Chi Minh City’s development capabilities and aspirations.
“Organizing these three events simultaneously is a symbol of harmony in strategy and vision. It also demonstrates Ho Chi Minh City’s commitment to always accompanying and creating the most favorable environment for domestic and foreign enterprises to grow together, spread positive values, and build an eco-friendly, sustainable, and creative economic-tourism-trade ecosystem,” Mr. Dung emphasized.
The HCMC International Tourism Festival 2025, themed “Sustainable Tourism – Vibrant Experience,” brought together over 520 units, 250 international buyers from 32 countries, and an expected 30,000 visitors. It served not only as an exhibition and promotion platform but also as a forum for in-depth discussions on digital transformation, green transition, and tourism entrepreneurship.
Additionally, the 2025 Export Forum and the “International Goods Supply Chain Connection” event continued to be a trusted bridge connecting Vietnamese enterprises with over 300 purchasing delegations from 60 countries and territories. With more than 12,000 products, 400 Vietnamese businesses, and thousands of B2B connections, substantial cooperation opportunities were presented, contributing to market diversification and deeper integration into the global value chain, spanning from agricultural products and processed foods to consumer industrial goods and supporting industrial products, including personal electronic devices.
The inauguration of these three significant events – the Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Festival 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Export Forum 2025, and the “International Goods Supply Chain Connection” event – marks a special milestone in the journey of integration and development of Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam. They are not just international-scale events but also a testament to the spirit of innovation and proactive integration that Ho Chi Minh City is fostering in its role as the economic, financial, commercial, and tourism center of the nation.
