On September 5th, the Traffic Police Department (C08, Ministry of Public Security) announced that they are collaborating with the Vietnam Road Administration to propose a dedicated driving practice route, including lessons on driving on expressways.
This proposal arises from concerns raised by citizens regarding driving practice vehicles on expressways, which pose potential safety risks.
According to reports from road users and observations on routes such as Hanoi – Thai Nguyen, Noi Bai – Lao Cai, and Thang Long Boulevard, driving students and practice vehicles often travel below the minimum speed limit of 60 km/h, while the maximum allowed speed is 120 km/h. In some cases, these vehicles even occupy Lane 1, designated for high-speed traffic.

This situation not only violates speed regulations but also forces other drivers to maneuver dangerously, disrupting traffic flow and increasing the risk of collisions and serious accidents.
To address this issue, the Director of the Traffic Police Department has instructed relevant units to collaborate with the Vietnam Road Administration to develop a plan that allows driving students to practice on dedicated routes, ensuring they learn to control vehicles at higher speeds while minimizing disruptions to other road users.
According to the Traffic Police Department, this proposal aims to tighten the management of driving practice vehicles and, more importantly, enhance safety for all vehicles using the expressway.
