“A Flourishing Business Landscape: 20,500 New Enterprises Across the Nation in the First Eight Months”

"In August 2025, Vietnam witnessed the establishment of 20.5 thousand new enterprises with a remarkable registered capital of 326.1 thousand billion VND and 106.9 thousand registered employees. These figures reflect a significant growth compared to July, with a 23.9% increase in the number of enterprises, nearly a 2.8-fold surge in registered capital, and a 35.4% rise in the number of employees."

According to the socio-economic report by the Statistics Bureau, compared to the same period last year, the above figures increased by 52.9% in the number of enterprises, more than 2.6 times in registered capital, and 49% in labor force. The average registered capital of a newly established enterprise in the month reached VND 15.9 billion, more than 2.2 times higher than the previous month and up 71.2% over the same period last year.

In addition, there were 12,400 enterprises nationwide that returned to operation, down 15% from the previous month but up 46.4% from the same period in 2024.

In the first eight months of 2025, the country had 128,200 newly established enterprises with a total registered capital of VND 1.25 quadrillion and a total registered labor force of nearly 777,000 laborers, up 15.7% in the number of enterprises, 26.1% in registered capital, and 15.5% in the labor force compared to the same period last year.

The average registered capital of a newly established enterprise in the first eight months reached VND 9.8 billion, up 9% over the same period in 2024. The total additional registered capital in the economy in the first eight months of 2025 reached nearly VND 4.1 quadrillion, up 105.3% over the same period in 2024.

Meanwhile, 81,100 enterprises nationwide resumed operations (up 41.4% over the same period in 2024), bringing the total number of newly established and resumed enterprises in the first eight months to 209,200, up 24.5% over the same period in 2024. On average, 26,200 enterprises were established or resumed operations each month.

In terms of economic sectors, in the first eight months, there were 1,167 newly established enterprises in the agriculture, forestry, and fishery sector, up 7.1% over the same period last year; 28,400 enterprises in the industry and construction sector, up 10.7%; and 98,600 enterprises in the service sector, up 17.4%.

Also, in August, 6,500 enterprises registered for temporary cessation of operations for a definite period, down 11% from the previous month but up 22.5% from the same period in 2024; 6,900 enterprises temporarily ceased operations pending dissolution procedures, up 56.8% and 33.2%, respectively; and 3,800 enterprises completed dissolution procedures, up 96.7% and 99%, respectively.

In the first eight months of this year, there were 95,000 enterprises temporarily ceasing operations for a definite period, up 14.7% over the same period last year; 47,800 enterprises temporarily ceasing operations pending dissolution procedures, up 23.7%; and 18,100 enterprises completing dissolution procedures, up 31.5%. On average, 20,100 enterprises withdrew from the market each month.
