According to the Ministry of Construction’s dispatch to the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province, the Dau Giay – Tan Phu Expressway (Phase 1) project, implemented under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, officially commenced construction on August 19, 2025.
The Dau Giay-Tan Phu Expressway passes through four former districts of Dong Nai province
According to the report by Dau Giay – Tan Phu Expressway Investment Joint Stock Company (Project Enterprise), the progress of land handover for the project has been slow, and some works and items belonging to the project’s critical path have not been handed over, significantly affecting the project’s design and construction progress.
To ensure timely implementation, the Ministry of Construction requests the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province to continue their attention and strong guidance to relevant units to resolve difficulties and bottlenecks, accelerate land clearance, and complete the project site handover by October 2025. This will enable construction to proceed as per the signed project contract and facilitate the disbursement of land clearance funds for the project in 2025.
Additionally, the provincial People’s Committee is requested to consider immediate handover of land at priority locations along the project’s critical path, specifically from Km40+700 to Km53+600. This section passes through the communes of Dinh Quan, Phu Hoa, Tan Phu, and Phu Lam in Dong Nai province and requires soil improvement treatment.
The Dau Giay – Tan Phu Expressway is over 60 kilometers long, starting at Dau Giay Junction in Dau Giay commune and ending at Phu Lam commune in Dong Nai province, with a total investment of nearly VND 8,500 billion.
The expressway is designed to Class A standards, with a design speed of 100 km/h, featuring four lanes and a road width of 24.75 meters in the completed phase, along with synchronous auxiliary items such as non-stop toll collection, operation center, lighting system, and intelligent traffic surveillance (ITS).
In Phase 1, the Dau Giay – Tan Phu Expressway will have a road width of 17 meters. However, at locations requiring soil improvement treatment, excavated and filled sections, interconnection junctions, emergency stopping lanes, and bridges along the route, the road will be constructed according to the completed phase’s scale, with a width of 24.75 meters. The construction is expected to take 24 months.
