“Mass Eviction: 2,800 Households to be Relocated as Bac Ninh Prepares for a 11-Trillion VND Urban Development Project Spanning 200 Ha”

On September 7, a meeting was chaired by the leaders of Bac Ninh province at the People’s Committee of Kinh Bac ward to review the progress of key investment projects in the area south of Cau River.

Among the projects, a prominent one is the new urban area combining tourism and eco-friendliness in the former Tu Son city, now known as Tam Son ward.

It is understood that to realize this new urban project, approximately 199 hectares of land will be reclaimed, affecting 2,750 households.

The project entails a total investment of about VND 11,170 billion, including an estimated VND 934 billion for compensation, support, and resettlement.

This urban area is being developed by Tay Bac Investment Joint Stock Company, and the preparation and implementation period is set at seven years from the date of investor selection. Once completed, the population here is expected to exceed 7,600 people.

According to reports, the relevant units have completed the detailed planning at a 1/500 scale, the feasibility study report, and submitted the environmental impact assessment report to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment for evaluation.

The local authorities also organized a conference to disseminate information and receive feedback from the households whose land will be reclaimed. Additionally, they issued a land recovery notice and approved the plan to select consultants to determine land prices as a basis for compensation and site clearance.

Moving forward, the units and localities will coordinate with the Department of Construction to issue a report on the appraisal of the technical infrastructure design basis of the project. They will also issue a notice of land recovery for the entire project area, conduct land inventory work, and establish a plan for compensation, site clearance, and resettlement…

During the meeting, the delegates discussed and proposed solutions to overcome difficulties and obstacles in site clearance to expedite the progress of the projects.

At the conference, the leaders of Bac Ninh province emphasized that site clearance is the most important task, and the localities need to prioritize it.

The province’s leaders assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to consolidate the proposals and recommendations related to site clearance.

The Department of Construction was instructed to focus on monitoring and issuing a notice of appraisal results for the technical infrastructure design basis of the project before September 20.

The Department of Finance was entrusted with guiding the specialized project management boards in establishing, appraising, approving, and allocating capital for project management.

Additionally, the leaders of Bac Ninh province assigned crucial tasks to the Department of Home Affairs, the Department of Justice, and the Project Management Board for Civil and Urban Development of Bac Ninh province No. 2…
