Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the Central Emulation and Reward Council and Director of the Central Steering Committee for Deploying the Elimination of Temporary and Dilapidated Houses nationwide, recently chaired a national online conference to review the Program and the Movement for Emulation “The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025”.

At the event, Saigon-Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister for its outstanding achievements in the Emulation Movement “The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025”

Earlier, in the program “Warm Homes for My Fellow Countrymen”, in response to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s call, SHB donated VND 100 billion to Soc Trang Province (now Can Tho City) to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households in the area.

SHB representatives visited and encouraged people with housing difficulties in Soc Trang Province (now Can Tho City)

In addition, SHB and T&T Group also accompanied the Ministry of Public Security in implementing the program to eliminate temporary houses and support the poor across provinces and cities, including the construction of 700 houses for the poor in Bac Lieu Province (now Ca Mau Province); 150 houses for people and 1 school for ethnic minority children in mountainous provinces severely affected by storms and floods such as: Son La, Tuyen Quang, Dien Bien, Thai Nguyen…

Throughout its 32 years of establishment and development, SHB has always adhered to the philosophy: “Enterprise development goes hand in hand with social responsibility”. Along with its business activities, SHB actively participates in social security and community activities, as well as programs launched by the Party and State. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when society faced a crisis, SHB proactively deployed preferential credit packages, debt restructuring, and interest rate reductions for hundreds of thousands of customers. Moreover, SHB also organized a series of charitable activities, donating medical equipment, and providing food to stand side by side with people to overcome the most difficult times. The total amount of money that SHB and enterprises in the ecosystem of businessman Do Quang Hien supported and contributed to the pandemic prevention and control amounted to more than VND 1,500 billion.

In 2024, when Typhoon Yagi caused severe impacts in many provinces and cities, SHB continued to be a pioneer bank, coordinating with the Fatherland Front Committees of many localities to directly survey, provide financial and spiritual support, and help people quickly stabilize their lives.

SHB’s practical actions demonstrate its strong commitment to accompanying social security activities, contributing to the community and the future of the country. The bank has been awarded the Second Class Labor Order (twice), the Third Class Labor Order (twice), and many other noble awards for collectives and individuals at SHB.

Continuing the tradition of more than three decades, SHB will persist in its sustainable development orientation, accompanying the creation and spreading of good values to people, and joining Vietnam in entering a new era – the era of national growth and prosperity.
