The complex weather in August 2025 brought heavy rains that directly impacted the coal and mineral mining operations of the Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Group (TKV)

In response, TKV developed strategies and implemented synchronized solutions to ensure the safety of coal storage facilities during the rainy season. As a result, TKV maintained stable production and successfully accomplished its business plan for August and the first eight months of 2025.

According to TKV’s representative at the online conference on production management for September 2025, the group produced 2.9711 million tons of clean coal in August, with an estimated total of 27.08 million tons for the first eight months. For September 2025, TKV aims to produce 2.6 million tons of raw coal, with a target of 3 million tons of clean coal and a consumption of 3.2 million tons. Alumina production is expected to reach 122,000 tons, with a consumption of 157,000 tons. Refined copper ore production is targeted at 9,500 tons, with a consumption of 3,000 tons. Electricity production is estimated at 520 million kWh, while explosive production is set at 6,000 tons. The group plans to supply 8,500 tons of explosives, produce 17,000 tons of ammonium nitrate, and consume 11,900 tons. TKV’s consolidated revenue for September is projected to be VND 13,200 billion.

In another development, TKV’s leaders recently met with the leadership of China Coal Construction Group Corporation No.3 to discuss the progress of ongoing projects and their plans for supervision and expediting construction at the Mao Khe Coal Company.

TKV proposed close coordination between the two sides to accelerate the progress of the ongoing projects. TKV assured that it would provide all necessary support to ensure the success of the projects.

Additionally, TKV’s leaders suggested exploring potential collaboration on transportation infrastructure projects in Vietnam. This strategic proposal holds the promise of breakthrough development opportunities for both TKV and China Coal Construction Group Corporation No.3 in other critical infrastructure projects.
