Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, Miss Grand International 2021, has been implicated in a police investigation by the Ministry of Public Security’s Investigation Agency (C01). She is accused of deceptive business practices related to the marketing and sale of a food product, Super Greens Gummies, also known as Kera candy.
The investigation has led to the proposal of criminal charges against several individuals, including Thuy Tien, Nguyen Thi Thai Hang (aka Hang Du Muc, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CER), Pham Quang Linh (aka Quang Linh Vlogs, Board member), Le Tuan Linh (Director and legal representative of CER), and Le Thanh Cong (Board member). These charges fall under the provisions of Article 198, Clause 2 of the Penal Code, pertaining to fraud.
The product in question, Super Greens Gummies or Kera candy, was a collaborative idea between Thuy Tien and the shareholders of CER. Tien held a 30% stake in the profits, while the CER shareholders received 70%. As such, they were considered the owners of the product and were legally responsible for its quality, ingredients, and composition.

When controversies arose on social media regarding the fiber content of Kera candy, Thuy Tien attempted to distance herself from the product to protect her personal image. In March 2025, at Tien’s request, discussions were held with Le Tuan Linh to formalize an advertising contract between CER and Sen Vang Commercial Advertising Company, Tien’s management agency. The purpose of this contract was to remove Tien’s role as an owner of Kera candy in the public eye and portray her solely as an advertiser for the product.
Tien then asked the General Director of Sen Vang Company to sign a contract with CER, which was agreed upon. The contract was backdated to December 5, 2024, to align with Tien’s first appearance advertising Kera candy on December 12, 2024.

C01 determined that Sen Vang Company and its individuals were not involved in the production, promotion, or introduction of Kera candy. Tien’s participation as a brand representative and advertiser was a personal endeavor and not on behalf of Sen Vang.
By requesting Sen Vang to formalize the contract with CER, Tien aimed to protect her image and avoid any negative associations with the product. The General Director of Sen Vang directed their subordinates to draft and sign the contract, which did not provide any financial benefit to the company or its individuals. As a result, C01 concluded that their actions did not constitute a criminal offense or indicate complicity in the case.
The investigation revealed that Le Tuan Linh directed CER’s product and media departments to create promotional content for Thuy Tien, Quang Linh Vlogs, and Hang Du Muc. This content was then used in six livestream sessions on their personal Tiktok channels from December 12, 2024, to January 16, 2025, with Thuy Tien appearing in three of them.
During these livestreams, Tien, Linh, and Hang made exaggerated and false claims about the benefits of Kera candy. They misleadingly promoted the candy as a substitute for vegetables, with Quang Linh stating, “one piece of candy is equivalent to a plate of boiled vegetables.” Thuy Tien also falsely advertised that each candy piece contained 10 types of vegetables and fruits along with various vitamins.

In reality, the candy had a very low fiber content of only 0.935%, contrary to their claims of it being a significant source of fiber for people who don’t eat enough vegetables. The first livestream on December 12, 2024, generated sales of 400 million VND, even though the product was not yet available for immediate delivery. This prompted Thuy Tien to negotiate a higher profit share of 30%, and the CER group also recognized the profit potential, discussing strategies to exaggerate the product’s benefits.
Asia Life, chaired by Nguyen Phong, was contracted by the CER group to manufacture the candy. After self-declaring the product, Asia Life produced nearly 168,000 boxes of Kera candy at their Dak Lak factory. Between December 6, 2024, and March 3, 2025, they used over 240 kg of 10 different vegetable and fruit powders to create the candy, selling 160,127 boxes to CER and keeping the rest for future orders and samples.
Asia Life’s total revenue from the sale of these boxes was 5.6 billion VND, resulting in an illegal profit of 2.9 billion VND. Unfortunately, 56,385 customers were deceived by the false advertising, purchasing a total of 129,617 boxes for 17.5 billion VND through Tiktok and Facebook sales channels.
C01 concluded that Thuy Tien, Hang Du Muc, and Quang Linh Vlogs had collectively earned 12.4 billion VND in illegal profits by misleading consumers with their exaggerated claims about Kera candy.
