Authorities have released information regarding the case involving Miss Thuy Tien and the Kẹo Kera scandal. Thuy Tien and four other suspects, including Hang Du Muc and Quang Linh Vlogs, are facing prosecution for deceiving customers. According to Phap Luat TP.HCM, Thuy Tien advertised the product without knowing the production process, only tasting to check the chewiness. The profits from the sales were divided based on capital contribution, with Thuy Tien receiving 25% (later increased to 30% in December 2024) and Chi Em Rot Company receiving 70%. During the investigation, Thuy Tien took the initiative to compensate for the damage by paying 3.2 billion VND through her family.
Recently, Sen Vang Company has issued an official statement regarding the incident.
In recent days, following the conclusion of the investigation by the Ministry of Public Security’s Investigation Agency (C01) regarding Kera candy, some media outlets and social networks have sensationalized and misconstrued the information.
This has led to a misunderstanding of the nature of the incident, seriously affecting the reputation of Sen Vang Commercial Advertising Joint Stock Company (referred to as “Sen Vang Company”) and Ms. Pham Thi Kim Dung.
To avoid misinformation and misunderstanding, we would like to quote the exact conclusion of the Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security (C01): “The above individuals did not participate in any discussions or exchanges during the production, promotion, introduction, and announcement of Kera candy by Chi Em Rot Company. They did not negotiate or discuss matters related to the promotion of Kera candy with the shareholders of Chi Em Rot Company. Tien’s participation as a brand representative and promoter of Kera was a personal initiative, and she did not represent Sen Vang Company. Only on March 7, 2025, after Tien asked Sen Vang Company (her management unit) to sign a service contract with Chi Em Rot Company to legalize her promotion of Kera candy to customers since December 2024, did Dung instruct Pham Thi Viet My and Thai Tran Minh Tam to draft the contract and assign Duong Dinh Phan to sign Service Contract No. 267/HĐDV/SV-2024 dated December 5, 2024, to protect Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien’s image and prevent any impact on Sen Vang Company. Sen Vang Company and the four individuals did not benefit from the production, promotion, introduction, and announcement of Kera candy or from the signing of the aforementioned contract for Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien.”
Therefore, the actions of Pham Thi Kim Dung, Duong Dinh Phan, Pham Thi Viet My, and Thai Tran Minh Tam do not constitute a criminal offense, and there are no signs of complicity with the accused in the case of “Deceiving Customers,” as stipulated in Article 198 of the 2015 Criminal Code.
This conclusion clearly indicates that Sen Vang Company and Ms. Pham Thi Kim Dung were not involved in any way in the negotiation, production, business, marketing, or profit-making process related to Kera candy.
We respectfully request that news agencies and media outlets report accurately and objectively, based on the official investigation conclusions of the Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security. Reporting misinformation can lead to serious misunderstandings and negatively impact the image of the business and Ms. Pham Thi Kim Dung.
