Can people still register to receive the 100,000 VND gift through VNeID?
The chairman of the People’s Committee of Hoa Hung Ward (Ho Chi Minh City) stated that as of September 5th, people can no longer register to receive the 100,000 VND gift through the VNeID application. Instead, citizens will have to go directly to the People’s Committee of the ward or the assigned neighborhood offices to receive the gift in person.
Previously, people received the gift by registering through the VNeID application, after which the bank would transfer the money to the provided account. However, for those who registered with the wrong account or have not received the gift, they need to go directly to the People’s Committee of the ward and provide the correct account number (through the local police) for consolidation and retransference.
Note that those who registered to receive the gift through bank transfer will not receive the gift in cash.
In addition, Hoa Hung Ward has instructed the neighborhoods to proactively review and compile a list of households where the head of the household is unable to come in person due to health or mobility issues. This list will then be sent to the Ward’s Culture and Social Affairs Office. The Ward will then compile a list and form a group to deliver the gifts directly to these households.
Local authorities supplement cash payments to ensure no one is missed
The disbursement through VNeID is being carried out concurrently with direct cash payments to people through grassroots authorities such as neighborhood, village, or ward/commune People’s Committees.
In Thanh Xuan Ward (Hanoi), with over 45,000 households and more than 139,000 inhabitants, the ward police have advised the Ward Party Committee and People’s Committee to develop a specific payment plan, mobilizing the synchronized coordination of neighborhood groups, youth unions, and women’s unions.
To ensure convenience, the payments are divided into smaller groups according to neighborhoods and organized at cultural houses or community centers. The ward police also organized quick training for the supporting forces on the process and data checking procedure.
Many localities have supplemented cash payment rounds to ensure that no one is missed or duplicated. Hanoi’s Ha Dong Ward, for example, had a payment round on August 31st and the morning of September 1st. However, as many residents were on holiday or visiting their hometowns, the Ward People’s Committee announced a second round of payments.
According to the Ha Dong Ward People’s Committee, the second round will be held on September 6th and 7th for the remaining neighborhood groups in the area. The gifts will be distributed to permanent resident households. The head of the household or an authorized representative can receive the gift on behalf of the family members. Recipients should bring their ID cards or VNeID for verification.
However, cash payments are only made to households with permanent residence in the ward and do not apply to those with temporary residence. Therefore, those who are not on the direct payment list will have to continue waiting for the transfer through VNeID.
A ward official stated that during the implementation process, there were some difficulties due to VNeID being inaccessible at certain times. Additionally, there were issues regarding temporary residents, where a citizen has a household registration in Ward A but is temporarily residing in Ward B, leading to their absence from the distribution list or requiring additional time for verification by ward officials.
10.7 trillion VND of National Day gifts have been withdrawn from the State Treasury
According to the State Treasury (Ministry of Finance), as of 5:00 PM on September 2nd, all 3,321 communes, wards, and townships across the country have completed the withdrawal of funds for the National Day gifts, totaling 10.7 trillion VND.
As directed by the Prime Minister, the National Day gifts are distributed through two methods: direct cash payments or transfers through VNeID. The disbursement period is from August 31st to September 2nd, but in special cases, it can be extended until September 15th, 2025.
