On September 8, 2025, Saigon Ground Services Joint Stock Company (SAGS) officially signed a ground handling services agreement with Sun PhuQuoc Airways as part of the collaboration between member units of the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) and Sun Group.

According to the agreement, the member units within ACV’s ground handling services ecosystem, including Saigon Ground Services Joint Stock Company (SAGS), Hanoi Ground Services Joint Stock Company (HGS), Saigon Cargo Services Joint Stock Company (SCSC), and Vietnam Aviation Cargo Services Joint Stock Company (ACSV), will provide ground handling services to Sun Phu Quoc Airways based on the criteria of establishing professional, safe, and efficient service standards.

This is a concrete step to materialize the comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement signed between ACV and Sun Group in June 2025, aiming to develop a world-class aviation-tourism value chain in Vietnam.

Statistics from the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority show that the aviation industry is on a growth trajectory. In the first six months of 2025, passenger volume reached 41.3 million, a 10% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Cargo volume also recorded an impressive nearly 15% increase, reaching nearly 695,700 tons.

This growth, coupled with the expected operation of the Long Thanh International Airport in 2026, is creating a strong momentum for the entire industry. Seizing this opportunity, Sun Group established Sun PhuQuoc Airways in 2025, with a focus on directly connecting passengers to destinations developed by Sun Group, ensuring a stable source of customers and creating a seamless package of “flying, vacationing, and entertainment.”

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Manh Quan, CEO of Sun PhuQuoc Airways, expressed his hope that the airline would bring a new choice to Vietnam’s aviation industry, contributing to market diversification and service quality enhancement, thereby elevating the overall passenger experience.

“We are committed to delivering a seamless journey and an immersive experience before, during, and after the flight,” said Mr. Quan. “All these touchpoints directly impact the passengers’ perception. This responsibility rests not only on the shoulders of the Sun PhuQuoc Airways team but also on our partners, who directly provide services and interact with customers.”

According to Mr. Quan, for an airline to develop sustainably and offer the best value to its customers, rational cost management is vital. This goal depends on choosing a ground handling partner with commensurate capabilities and vision.

With over 20 years of experience, SAGS currently serves more than 60 domestic and international airlines at Danang and Cam Ranh international airports. In 2024, SAGS formed a joint venture with HGS to expand its operations at Long Thanh International Airport, one of the region’s major aviation hubs.

SAGS’s reputation is built on a foundation of professional personnel, modern equipment, and a commitment to adhering to the standards of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the specific requirements of each customer.

“This event opens up an opportunity for us to create the best synergistic service value for Sun PhuQuoc Airways, thereby synchronizing and optimizing the customer experience,” emphasized Mr. Bui Tuan Anh, CEO of SAGS.

The collaboration brings significant benefits to both parties.

For Sun PhuQuoc Airways, partnering with a well-experienced system like SAGS and ACV’s units helps them swiftly and efficiently tackle ground handling challenges without incurring hefty investments and lengthy processes.

Conversely, for SAGS and the ACV ecosystem, securing a strategic customer like Sun PhuQuoc Airways even before its takeoff is a significant achievement. This not only promises new revenue streams but also underscores the prowess and competitiveness of domestic service enterprises.
