Apple has unveiled the iPhone Air, the thinnest iPhone ever, measuring just 5.6 mm thick and weighing a mere 165 g. This bold new design statement doesn’t compromise on performance.
This sleek device made its debut at the September 9, 2025, event and is set to go on sale in Vietnam and other major markets on September 19. Upon its release, it will go head-to-head with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, which boasts a slim profile of approximately 5.8 mm.
The iPhone Air’s frame is crafted from Grade 5 titanium, making it lighter and stronger than any previous iPhone. Both the front and back are shielded by 2nd-generation Ceramic Shield glass, enhancing durability and impact resistance.

The device features a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR display with a 120 Hz ProMotion refresh rate, a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, and Always-On Display functionality, delivering smooth visuals and accurate color reproduction.
Under the hood, the iPhone Air packs a punch with the A19 Pro chip, shared with the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. However, the Air’s GPU is a 5-core variant, while the Pro models sport a 6-core version. The chip is paired with Apple’s C1X modem and N1 connectivity chip, supporting Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and 5G networks. Apple claims this iPhone is the most energy-efficient in the lineup, offering all-day battery life despite its slim form factor—approximately 27 hours of video playback or 40 hours with the optional MagSafe battery pack.

The iPhone Air sports a 48MP Fusion camera (default 24MP images) on the rear, housed within a distinctive camera plateau to save internal space. It forgoes additional rear cameras, opting for a single-camera setup to maintain its lightweight and thin design. The 18MP TrueDepth front camera supports Center Stage, enabling automatic face tracking during video calls or selfies, along with enhanced video stabilization.
The iPhone Air utilizes eSIM technology, eliminating the need for a physical SIM card slot, thus saving space and enhancing security. It is also water-resistant, rated IP68, and supports MagSafe wireless charging. A range of new accessories is available, including a clear soft case, a lightweight bumper, and a crossbody strap in subtle colors like Space Black, Cloud White, Light Gold, and Sky Blue.

Price-wise, the iPhone Air starts at 31.99 million VND for the 256 GB model and goes up to 44.99 million VND for the 1 TB variant. These prices are slightly higher than the Galaxy S25 Edge, which retails for 30 and 33.5 million VND for the 256 GB and 512 GB versions, respectively.
Alongside the all-new iPhone Air and the Pro models, Apple also introduced the standard iPhone 17 with notable upgrades, including a 120 Hz display, a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits, and narrower bezels. The front camera has been upgraded to 24MP, while the rear camera system retains the 48MP main sensor and 12MP telephoto lens. Powered by the A19 chip and 8 GB of RAM, the iPhone 17 incorporates Apple Intelligence features such as on-device translation and AI-enhanced image processing.
