Addressing the event, Deputy Director Ho Minh Tan stated, “The MPL training program, collaboratively implemented by BAA Training Vietnam and Bamboo Airways, was officially approved by the Aviation Administration in January 2023. This marks the first time such a training model has been applied in Vietnam. Completing this course is a significant milestone, introducing a new pilot training methodology tailored to Vietnam’s operational conditions and standards.”

On behalf of the Vietnam Aviation Administration, Deputy Director Ho Minh Tan extended congratulations to the graduating trainees and commended BAA Training Vietnam and Bamboo Airways for successfully completing the MPL pilot training program in Vietnam, fostering high-quality aviation talent.

Exceptional Program

Vytautas Jankauskas, CEO of BAA Training Vietnam, shared, “We are thrilled to see our MPL trainees from the Bamboo Airways partnership graduate, ready to embark on their professional journeys. The MPL program is designed not only to impart technical expertise but also to cultivate critical thinking and hands-on experience from the outset, ensuring a robust foundation and comprehensive preparation to meet the escalating demands of commercial aviation.”

Representing Bamboo Airways, CEO Truong Phuong Thanh warmly welcomed the graduating MPL pilot trainees. He noted that previously, Vietnamese pilot training was conducted entirely abroad. However, with the approval of the Vietnam Aviation Administration and the partnership between BAA Training Vietnam and Bamboo Airways, trainees are now trained domestically.

MPL trainees in Vietnam commemorate the occasion with leaders from the Aviation Administration, BAA Training Vietnam, and Bamboo Airways.

“We are proud to be the pioneers in bringing the MPL training program to Vietnam and hope that our trainees will continually refine their skills to become professional pilots, ensuring safe and efficient flights,” stated the CEO of Bamboo Airways.

The MPL program, jointly implemented by BAA Training Vietnam and Bamboo Airways, focuses on practical training with A320F commercial aircraft, primarily conducted in Vietnam. Upon graduation, trainees will proceed to real-flight training (takeoff/landing), accumulating 200 hours of flight practice at Bamboo Airways before becoming co-pilots for the airline.

The success of the MPL training program is not only a significant achievement for Bamboo Airways and BAA Training Vietnam but also a positive indicator for the sustainable development of Vietnam’s domestic aviation sector. It contributes to ensuring operational safety and enhancing competitive capabilities. Additionally, this strategic initiative underscores Bamboo Airways’ proactive approach in training specialized aviation personnel, optimizing costs, and strengthening internal operational efficiency.
