On September 15, the Secretary-General of the National Assembly, Le Quang Tung, announced that the Standing Committee of the National Assembly has approved the prosecution, temporary detention, search, and suspension of the duties and powers of Deputy Tran Van Thuc of the 15th National Assembly.
Specifically, on September 13, based on legal provisions, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued Resolution 1825, approving the request of the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People’s Procuracy to prosecute, temporarily detain, and search Tran Van Thuc, a deputy of the 15th National Assembly, in accordance with the law.
Concurrently, the exercise of the duties and powers of National Assembly Deputy Tran Van Thuc, a member of the 15th National Assembly, has been temporarily suspended from the date of the prosecution decision.

Previously, the Investigative Police Agency of Thanh Hoa Province issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Tran Van Thuc, former Director of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa Province.
Tran Van Thuc is charged with forgery in official duties, as stipulated in Article 359 of the Penal Code.
Tran Van Thuc has held various positions, including Vice Principal and Principal of Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports, and Tourism; Deputy Director and Director of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa Province, before being appointed as Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Propaganda and Mobilization Board in March 2025.
Tran Van Thuc is a member of the Provincial Party Committee and a deputy of the 15th National Assembly representing Thanh Hoa Province.
