According to the Ho Chi Minh City Industrial Zones Management Board, the Lego Group’s factory has commenced operations, providing employment for thousands of workers. With an investment of over $1 billion, the facility spans 44 hectares within VSIP 3 Industrial Park, recognized as one of Ho Chi Minh City’s green industrial zones.

On the same day, Lego announced a Direct Power Purchase Agreement (DPPA) with Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park Joint Venture Co., Ltd. (VSIP), ensuring the factory operates on 100% renewable energy.

VSIP 3 Industrial Park attracts green industrial investments.

This marks the first large-scale renewable energy solution tailored for industrial manufacturing in Vietnam. Under the agreement, renewable electricity from VSIP’s extensive solar power system will be delivered to the factory via an industrial battery storage system, ensuring a stable and continuous supply of clean energy.

Mr. Nguyen Phu Thinh, CEO of VSIP, stated that integrating rooftop solar panels and energy storage systems demonstrates how industrial parks can lead in providing reliable green energy solutions.

The factory operates on 100% renewable energy.

Estimates indicate that this sustainable energy initiative will help Lego reduce approximately 15,000 tons of CO2e annually, starting in 2026. The factory has already installed 12,400 rooftop solar panels, meeting 75% of its energy needs for the first five years. Additional off-site power purchase agreements are underway to achieve the 100% renewable energy target.
