Passengers on Ho Chi Minh City’s bus network can now tap-to-pay using credit cards or domestic payment cards from 28 NAPAS member organizations across over 30 routes and 600 buses. This innovative solution, powered by Open-loop technology, is spearheaded by Sacombank as the payment processor in collaboration with key partners.
Currently, commuters can use Mastercard, Visa, and NAPAS cards for cashless bus fares. The next phase aims to expand this system to 100 routes with over 1,400 vehicles, advancing HCMC’s public transport digitalization agenda, building on the success of the Metro Line 1 automated ticketing model.
