On the evening of September 15th, the National Achievements Exhibition themed “80 Years of the Journey Towards Independence, Freedom, and Happiness” concluded at the National Exhibition Center (Dong Anh District, Hanoi) after 19 days of public engagement. This significant event was part of the series commemorating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd.

The exhibition, which opened on August 28th, featured 28 ministries, central agencies, and over 110 leading enterprises and economic groups with more than 230 booths. It showcased achievements across nearly 180 industries, presenting a comprehensive array of documents, artifacts, machinery, equipment, documentaries, and reports that vividly highlighted the nation’s remarkable progress over the past 80 years.

The 260,000m² exhibition space was logically and multi-tiered, divided into three main zones:

The Overview Zone at Thien Quy Exhibition Hall included six spaces: “Vietnam – Land and People,” “95 Years of the Party’s Guiding Flag,” “Creation and Development,” “Economic Catalysts,” “Nation-Building Entrepreneurship,” and “Prosperous People, Strong Nation.”

The Outdoor Zone, themed “Integration and Development,” featured five spaces: “For a Green Future,” “Sky Aspirations,” “Fortress and Shield,” “National Unity Festival,” and a performing arts area. Additionally, the Cultural Industry Zone was hosted at Pho A Exhibition Hall, showcasing 12 cultural industries.

Initially scheduled to end on September 5th, the exhibition was extended to September 15th due to increasing visitor numbers. This extension was in response to public demand and in compliance with Prime Minister’s Directive No. 155/CĐ-TTg dated September 2, 2025, to prolong the exhibition as part of the 80th National Day celebrations.

A Landmark Event Marked by Numerous Records

Beyond its scale, the “80 Years of the Journey Towards Independence, Freedom, and Happiness” exhibition set multiple records, cementing its status as the largest political and cultural event in history.

Unprecedented in size, the exhibition spanned nearly 260,000m² with hundreds of booths, involving nearly all ministries, localities, and leading enterprises. It was hosted at the Vietnam Exhibition Center, one of the world’s top 10 international exhibition centers, completed in just 10 months—a testament to Vietnam’s ambition and achievements.

Attracting over 10 million visitors in less than 20 days, with a peak of nearly 1.3 million on September 13th, the exhibition demonstrated its immense appeal. Visitors came not only to admire achievements but also to relive sacred historical moments, fostering pride and unity between the Party, State, and the people.

The exhibition’s success also lay in its innovative and modern organization. Cutting-edge technologies connected the past, present, and future dynamically, offering an interactive and inspiring historical experience, particularly for the youth, igniting patriotism and a spirit of contribution.

Accompanying the exhibition were various events, including art nights in Hanoi, Hue, and Ho Chi Minh City, and a national concert series by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, alongside Vietnam Television, celebrating national culture and unity.

Notably, the exhibition welcomed leaders from several countries and international organizations, including high-level delegations from Laos (led by General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith) and Cambodia (led by President Hun Sen), as well as military delegations from Russia, Laos, Cambodia, and Cuba, and representatives from various embassies. This underscored Vietnam’s open foreign policy and its aspirations for global engagement.

At the closing ceremony, the Prime Minister awarded 36 outstanding collectives and honored several exemplary exhibition spaces. The event concluded with the “I Love My Homeland” art performance and a dazzling fireworks display.
