The 4th annual AEON Ekiden event will take place across three locations: AEON Hà Đông (Hanoi) on June 15, 2025; AEON Huế on July 20, 2025; and AEON Bình Tân (Ho Chi Minh City) on September 14, 2025.
Under the core message “Every Coin Counts,” AEON Vietnam is committed to ensuring that every customer transaction generates value for the local community and contributes to societal development through its long-term dedication to sustainability across three pillars: Environmental, Economic, and Social Sustainability. Within the Social Sustainability pillar, AEON Vietnam focuses on four key objectives: Promoting Physical & Mental Well-being, Nurturing the Younger Generation, Advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (D.E.I), and Supporting Disaster Recovery. AEON Ekiden falls under the Social Sustainability pillar, aiming to enhance physical and mental well-being within the community.
Since 2022, the AEON Ekiden and AEON Cosplay Festival series have attracted nearly 22,000 participants, creating memorable moments for families and friends. In line with its commitment to environmental protection through sustainable solutions, this year’s AEON Ekiden medals will continue to be made from recycled plastic, reducing waste and promoting resource reuse.

“In 2025, AEON EKIDEN will be held in three locations: AEON Hà Đông, AEON Bình Tân, and AEON Huế, marking our expansion into Central Vietnam,” stated Mr. Tezuka Daisuke, Executive Board Member, Group Representative in Vietnam, and CEO of AEON Vietnam, during the event.
From the Racetrack to a Cultural and Tourism Bridge
AEON Ekiden is more than just a running event; it’s a unique fusion of sports and cultural exchange. Taking place for the first time in Huế—as the city proudly hosts the “National Tourism Year” for the second consecutive year—AEON Ekiden aims to become a bridge supporting the robust growth of local tourism.
Spanning a full day, the program features two main activities: a morning relay race, the AEON Ekiden, alongside a series of Vietnamese-Japanese cultural exchange activities, and an afternoon AEON Cosplay Festival with Talent and Catwalk competitions, showcasing creative performances that spread positive values. In 2025, the race will be divided into two categories: Category A (with at least one member aged 5–12) and Category B (for participants aged 13 and above), allowing families and groups of young friends to join together. The course is designed to accommodate all ages, fostering a spirit of sportsmanship, healthy living, and community connection.

Simultaneously, the Vietnam-Japan Cultural Festival offers a wealth of experiences, from traditional games like dragonfly-making, paper fan crafting, and ring tossing, to a unique cosplay playground. By blending physical activity, culture, and art, AEON Ekiden 2025 promises not only to promote sportsmanship, healthy living, and community ties but also to create a vibrant and dynamic cultural exchange day in Huế.
