At the Ministerial Dialogue within the framework of the Vietnam Private Economic Forum, Mrs. Tran Phuong Nga, CEO of Thien Long Group, delivered an inspiring message: “We envision Vietnam becoming Southeast Asia’s hub for green stationery production and export, spreading the spirit of Vietnamese learning and knowledge globally.”

The dialogue brought together leaders from various ministries, experts, and young entrepreneurs, including Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam, Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Federation, and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long.

Co-creation: A Solution for Development

Delegates discussed strategies to enhance the private sector’s integration capabilities, deepen participation in global value chains, promote green economy, and strengthen regional connectivity. These efforts align with Resolution 59-NQ/TW on international integration and Resolution 68-NQ/TW on private sector development in the new context.

In her presentation, Mrs. Nga painted a comprehensive picture of Vietnam’s stationery industry, which is closely tied to the educational needs of over 25 million students nationwide. It not only serves consumption but also nurtures a culture of learning.

However, the industry faces challenges: a fragmented market, weak supply chains among small businesses, limited supporting industries, constrained innovation, reliance on imported raw materials, lack of a national branding strategy, and superficial research collaborations between businesses and institutions. Additionally, shifting consumer trends toward multifunctional, eco-friendly, and tech-integrated products pose further challenges as the domestic market adapts.

Vietnam’s stationery industry serves over 25 million students.

“To overcome these bottlenecks, we propose a ‘Co-creation’ spirit, fostering collaboration among the government, private sector, and international community to build a green stationery value chain ecosystem,” Mrs. Nga emphasized.

This involves government-business partnerships to develop eco-friendly materials like bioplastics, recycled plastics, and paper; promoting refillable products to extend lifecycles and reduce waste; and integrating green products into public procurement and school supplies for sustainable demand.

Mrs. Nga also advocated for adopting Industry 4.0 technologies in production, smart warehouse management, and cross-border e-commerce. She suggested establishing national pavilions on global e-commerce platforms like Amazon, Alibaba, and Shopee Global to directly reach international consumers. She believes the industry needs a Vietnam Stationery Association to connect businesses, share logistics infrastructure, reduce costs, and enhance competitiveness.

A New Symbol of Knowledge

Another key initiative is building a national brand for the stationery industry. “We propose organizing an annual ‘Vietnam Stationery Week,’ participating in international trade fairs under a unified pavilion, and including ‘Vietnam Stationery’ in the National Brand Program with the slogan ‘Inspiring Knowledge – Spreading Vietnamese Wisdom.’ We aim to strengthen international communication, linking Vietnamese stationery with education, creativity, and innovation,” Mrs. Nga shared.

Looking ahead, a national strategy should connect the stationery industry with education, promoting smart pens, electronic boards, and STEAM learning tools—offering comprehensive educational solutions beyond products.

Mrs. Nga outlined a roadmap: from 2025–2030, consolidate markets in ASEAN, South Asia, and Africa, where educational demand is rapidly growing; from 2030–2035, expand to the EU and US, leveraging eco-friendly products that meet stringent environmental standards. Thien Long commits to leading in R&D, innovation, green production, and expanding international supply chains, serving as a core connector for businesses to build a national brand.

“With co-creation among businesses, government, and the community, Vietnam’s stationery industry can evolve from a supporting sector to a cultural and educational leader, enhancing the nation’s global standing,” Mrs. Nga affirmed.

The Vietnam Private Economic Forum (VPSF) 2025 took place in Hanoi on September 15–16, organized by the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association with government leaders, ministries, and over 1,500 entrepreneurs in attendance.

The forum’s message not only charts a new development path for the stationery industry but also ignites a greater ambition: transforming ‘Vietnam Stationery’ into a global symbol of knowledge.
