Auction Lot Starting at 2.5 Million VND

A leading auction company has announced the sale of seized assets approved by the Hanoi Market Management Department. Notably, the auction includes approximately 500 pre-owned iPhones. The starting bid is set at 2.5 million VND per unit, with nearly 400 iPhone 13 models starting at just 4 million VND. This is significantly lower than the current market price for used iPhone 13s, which ranges from 7 to 11 million VND.

Additionally, the lot includes over 70 iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro units. The total starting value of the entire lot exceeds 2.01 billion VND. Participants must place a deposit of more than 20 million VND. The devices will be displayed at the Hanoi Market Management Department’s warehouse before the online auction, scheduled for the morning of September 23, using an ascending bid format.

Previous Seized Asset Auctions

In late August, another company held an auction for seized assets in Bac Ninh, including 406 phones and 34 electronic and office devices. The starting bid for this lot was over 270 million VND. The inventory featured popular brands like Samsung, iPhone, Nokia, and OPPO, though most items were pre-owned, with many in unknown working condition and some having cracked screens.

Beyond iPhones, various other pre-owned devices are up for auction.

Risks of Purchasing Electronics at Auction

Bidders should note that most items in such auctions are pre-owned or seized, often featuring scratches, missing accessories, or unverified functionality. Auction purchases do not include official warranties or return policies, meaning buyers assume all risks if the product malfunctions after receipt.

Despite low starting bids, successful bidders must account for additional costs like VAT and shipping fees. Careful calculation is essential to ensure the total expense does not exceed the item’s actual value.
