Goertek Vina Smart Technology LLC recently submitted an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report for its Nam Son – Hap Linh Electronics Manufacturing Plant project, specializing in electronic products, network equipment, and multimedia audio devices.
The project received its initial investment registration certificate in 2023 from the Bac Ninh Industrial Zones Management Board, located in Lot A1, Nam Son – Hap Linh Industrial Zone, Bac Ninh Province. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment approved the EIA report in July 2024, with a total capacity of nearly 658.6 million products/year. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment issued an environmental permit in May 2024 for over 66.5 million products. Currently, the project is producing items under the granted environmental permit. Subsequently, the capacity was increased to nearly 723 million products/year, with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment approving the environmental impact assessment results for the capacity expansion in July 2025.
To align with production and business goals, meeting market demands and customer orders, the company adjusted the detailed construction plan at a 1:500 scale. This included expanding the land area, constructing additional workshops, adding production sectors, and increasing capacity. On August 15, 2025, the project received its 8th adjusted investment registration certificate from the Bac Ninh Industrial Zones Management Board.
The project now spans approximately 527,538 m², with added workshops, increased capacity, and additional production components. These include optical disc drives, wired charging docks for game controllers, vibration modules for game controllers, signal converters for virtual reality headsets, and heat dissipation components, with a capacity of 723.7 million products/year. Printed circuit board (S11) production has a capacity of 430.55 million products/year. Manufacturing and processing products such as outer casings, plugs, and in-ear headphone supports; outer casings and buttons for augmented reality (AR) glasses; outer casings and buttons for virtual reality (VR) glasses; outer casings, suction ports, supports, covers, bodies, and frames for robot vacuum cleaners (S16) have a capacity of 1.24 billion products/year. Production of game controller accessories, including plastic assembly components and middle frames, has a capacity of 270 million products/year.
The total investment for the project is 13,896 billion VND (equivalent to 540 million USD). The project timeline spans from February 2023 to Q2 2027, with official production commencing in Phase 3.

In January 2022, Goertek Vina increased its investment by 400 million USD, bringing the total to 500 million USD, making it Nghe An’s largest FDI project.
In Vietnam, the Chinese conglomerate operates several other entities, including Goertek Vina Precision Industry LLC, Goertek Vina Science and Technology LLC, Goertek Technology Vina LLC, and Goertek Electronics Vietnam LLC.
Goertek’s significant investment in Vietnam is part of Apple’s strategy to reduce reliance on China, mitigating trade, geopolitical, logistics, and labor cost risks. Apple is increasing investments in Vietnam through suppliers like Goertek, Foxconn, and Luxshare to expand production of components and products such as AirPods, Apple Watch, and virtual reality devices.
