According to Petrolimex, the corporation is restructuring its organizational framework, from the corporate office to its subsidiaries, in strict adherence to the principles, objectives, and requirements outlined in the conclusions of the Party Central Committee’s Executive Board, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Steering Committee for the Review of Resolution 18-NQ/TW.

Petrolimex will merge and reduce subsidiaries to ensure each province or city has only one member company.

For petroleum companies, Petrolimex will merge and streamline operations to ensure each province or city has only one subsidiary directly under the corporation. This subsidiary will manage the entire network of petrol stations owned within its respective province or city. The name of the restructured petroleum company will align with the new provincial administrative unit. The company’s headquarters will be located in the province’s political and administrative center.

Following restructuring, the new organizational framework will swiftly stabilize operations, maintain market leadership, enhance adaptability to market fluctuations, and achieve established targets.

At the parent company level, the corporation will continue to review and reassess the functions and responsibilities of its business divisions to streamline operations and accelerate workflow, adhering to the criteria of “lean, efficient, and robust.”

Additionally, Mr. Phạm Văn Thanh, Chairman of Petrolimex’s Board of Directors, announced that in 2025, the corporation has been executing several critical initiatives, including divesting from or merging business segments that have fulfilled their historical missions or no longer align with future development strategies.

“Proactive and pioneering restructuring enables the corporation to consolidate internal resources and attract external investment into core business activities, particularly energy transition projects,” emphasized Mr. Thanh.

To ensure the restructuring process enhances efficiency and effectiveness, the corporation’s leadership has committed to prioritizing the lawful interests of its employees.

The mergers have been unanimously approved through numerous meetings of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors, representing a necessary step in alignment with the overarching policies of the Party and the State.
