At precisely 8 a.m. on September 19th, the iPhone 17 and iPhone Air series officially began delivery to Vietnamese consumers. This milestone elevates Vietnam to Tier 1 status—a coveted group of markets prioritized by Apple.

Preliminary data from several retailers suggests the market scale could reach impressive heights. Industry experts and retailers estimate that iPhone 17 sales in Vietnam may surpass 250,000 units, valued at approximately 7.5 trillion VND.

Leading retailers like The Gioi Di Dong (via Topzone) and authorized dealers reported remarkable pre-order figures. By the evening of September 18th, Topzone alone recorded over 94,500 deposits for iPhone 17 variants. FPT Shop and other authorized systems also noted a significant surge in interest and pre-orders compared to the previous year.

Vietnamese consumers eagerly welcomed the new iPhone lineup with unprecedented enthusiasm.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max, particularly in Cosmic Orange, faced shortages across multiple retailers due to high demand.

CellphoneS announced the delivery of over 20,000 pre-ordered units during the simultaneous launch across approximately 150 stores nationwide, ensuring customers avoided lengthy waits experienced in previous years. This synchronized launch with major markets highlights an accelerated supply chain and distribution schedule for Vietnam.

Di Dong Viet representatives reported nearly 27,000 registrations during the pre-order phase. Beyond online channels, in-store foot traffic doubled, with many visiting to explore pre-order programs and experience the new devices firsthand.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Khue, representing Viettel Store, confirmed that the latest iPhones were delivered to customers starting at 8 a.m. on September 19th across nearly 500 Viettel Store locations nationwide.

Among the lineup, the iPhone 17 Pro Max emerged as the most sought-after model. Retailers reported that 256GB variants dominated orders, with the Cosmic Orange color commanding the majority of Pro series pre-orders. The iPhone Air resonated with younger users, thanks to its sleek design and groundbreaking pricing.

Starting prices for the Pro and Pro Max models are set at approximately 35 million VND and 38 million VND, respectively—higher than last year. Apple increased the base storage to 256GB for many models and introduced a 2TB option for the Pro Max, pushing certain configurations to new price thresholds. Despite the higher costs, demand for premium models remains robust, with many opting for larger capacities and trending colors.
