Quảng Trị Province Revokes 3,307 m² of Prime Coastal Land Granted to Thanh An Company – AI-Generated Image (Created by Hoàng Phúc)

On September 21, the Office of the People’s Committee of Quảng Trị Province announced that Chairman Trần Phong had signed a notice to reclaim land allocated to Thanh An Construction Company. The land, intended for a tourism project in Đồng Hới Ward, remained undeveloped despite the company’s commitments.

The People’s Committee of Quảng Trị Province has decided to reclaim 3,307 m² of land in Hải Thành Ward (now Đồng Hới Ward). This plot was originally leased to Thanh An Construction Company in August 2010 by the former Quảng Bình Province to develop the Thanh An Resort.

According to the People’s Committee, the land was reclaimed because Thanh An Construction Company failed to develop the site for years, leaving the prime land unused and wasting valuable resources.

Recently, the company was granted an additional 24-month extension to commence the project but has still not utilized the land. This inaction falls under the land reclamation provisions outlined in Clause 8, Article 81 of the 2024 Land Law.

The People’s Committee of Quảng Trị Province has also directed Thanh An Construction Company to remove all assets from the land within 45 days of receiving the notice. Failure to comply will result in the state reclaiming the land without compensation for the land, attached assets, or remaining investment costs, as per legal regulations.
