On the morning of September 21st, local time in Seattle (evening of September 21st, Hanoi time), as part of bilateral activities, President Luong Cuong and the high-level Vietnamese delegation attended the aircraft handover ceremony between Boeing and Vietjet at Boeing’s facility in Seattle.

Vietjet officially received the first Boeing 737-8 aircraft from its historic order of 200 planes, valued at $25 billion with Boeing.

The new aircraft will enhance Vietjet’s operations in the dynamic regional market, elevating the experience for millions of passengers. Simultaneously, Boeing’s aircraft supports Vietjet’s global expansion ambitions, fostering sustainable growth both regionally and internationally for this next-generation airline.

Speaking at the event, Vietjet Chairman Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao emphasized that receiving the first Boeing aircraft from the historic order marks a significant milestone in nearly a decade of collaboration between Vietjet and Boeing. She also affirmed this as a new symbol of the Vietnam-U.S. relationship.
