On September 23, the Department of Construction of Ho Chi Minh City announced an official dispatch regarding the reorganization of the Central Administrative Center – Branch 2 (Binh Duong area), previously known as the Binh Duong Administrative Center.

This decision follows a proposal by Becamex IDC Corporation to convert a portion of the Binh Duong Administrative Center into the Ho Chi Minh City Science Center and the Multipurpose Science and Technology Building.

The modern Binh Duong Administrative Center area, ideal for science and technology development.

The Department of Construction has submitted document 8768 to the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City for consideration, outlining specific plans: Tower A will remain the workspace for several Party committees, departments, associations, and public service units.

In Tower B, the ground floor will house the Building Management Board and the Health Department. Floors 2 to 20 are proposed to establish the Ho Chi Minh City Science Center and the Multipurpose Science and Technology Building.

The former Binh Duong Administrative Center was constructed with a total investment of approximately VND 1.4 trillion. It features twin towers, each 23 stories high, along with 2 basement levels, covering a total floor area of over 100,000 m². The complex includes a helipad and parking for 640 cars and 2,000 motorcycles, catering to large-scale centralized operations.

Operational since early 2014, the complex once symbolized Binh Duong’s administrative prowess. Following the merger, it became the Central Administrative Center – Branch 2 (Binh Duong area).

Strategically located in the heart of the Binh Duong Industrial-Urban-Service Complex spanning over 4,100 hectares, the building is developed by Becamex IDC. This area boasts synchronized infrastructure, attracting numerous manufacturing, service, and technology enterprises. It is recognized as the “core” of the Southern Key Economic Region.

During a meeting with Binh Duong Ward (where the Administrative Center is located), Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang emphasized that Binh Duong Ward will become a hub for science and technology development. The Administrative Center building is set to transform into a science and technology development center for Ho Chi Minh City, given its ideal conditions. Quang also urged Binh Duong Ward to develop this area into a science and technology ecosystem.
