On September 23, AEON Tan An Mall (Long An) opened its doors, with the grand opening scheduled for October 4. This marks AEON’s 8th shopping center in Vietnam and its first venture in the Mekong Delta region.

Construction began in May 2024, with the mall spanning nearly 2.2 hectares and a total floor area of over 27,000 square meters. Strategically located on National Highway 1A, just 1 km from the Ho Chi Minh City – Trung Luong Expressway, it offers seamless connectivity to neighboring provinces.

With an investment of over 1 trillion VND, the 4-story mall boasts a floor area of 21,900 square meters and houses approximately 30 stores. Among these, 25 brands are making their debut in the Mekong Delta. The mall features diverse zones: the ground floor hosts AEON Supermarket and Delica Food Court; the first floor offers fashion, electronics, and furniture stores; the second floor includes a bookstore, play area, dining options, and an outdoor terrace; and the third floor features Galaxy Cinema. Additional amenities include sports shops, cafes, and restaurants.

The mall integrates advanced technologies such as electronic directories, smart lockers, and complimentary automated parking. Family-friendly services like childcare rooms, strollers, and wheelchairs are also available.

According to Mordor Intelligence, Vietnam’s retail market is experiencing robust growth, projected to reach $309 billion by 2025 and $546 billion by 2030. Modern retail currently accounts for 12–15% of the market share, highlighting significant opportunities for expansion and business model transformation.

Identifying Vietnam as a key market alongside Japan, AEON aims to triple its current scale by 2030. Beyond major cities like Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, the Japanese retailer is expanding its footprint to other provinces and cities.

In 2024, AEON Vietnam reported a 120% year-on-year revenue growth, becoming the fastest-growing market outside Japan within its network. This year, AEON launched three new locations: AEON Hue, AEON Ta Quang Buu, and AEON Xuan Thuy.
