On September 25, the construction unit of the Ho Chi Minh Highway (Chon Thanh – Duc Hoa section passing through Ho Chi Minh City) erected barriers, warning signs, and used soil and rocks to close multiple sections of the road to complete four bridges.

Specifically, these include: Phuoc Hoa Canal Bridge, Ba Tu Bridge, Thi Tinh Bridge, and Cay Truong Bridge. The temporary closure of these road sections will last approximately 10 days (starting from September 22) to complete the expansion joints of the aforementioned bridges.

To date, the Ho Chi Minh Highway (section through Ho Chi Minh City) has not been opened for technical inspection and has not been officially completed or put into use, so it remains under construction, with maximum restrictions on vehicle access.

This section of the highway features a total of six bridges, including the four mentioned above, as well as Rach Tre Bridge and Thanh An Bridge. Among them, Thanh An Bridge, spanning the Saigon River and connecting to Tay Ninh Province, is the longest on the route at 600 meters and was joined earlier in 2025.

The Ho Chi Minh Highway section through Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Bau Bang District, Binh Duong Province) has a total length of 31.5 km. It was expected to open for technical inspection on April 30, 2025, but this has been delayed due to land clearance issues.
