As of the closing session last night, early this morning on September 24th (Vietnam time), coffee prices on the London market saw a significant drop, with Robusta falling by 134–162 USD/ton, a decline of 3.26% to 3.79%. Similarly, Arabica prices on the New York market decreased by 3.05% to 4.68%.
Coffee Prices Plummet Today
Specifically, for the November 2025 reference contract, Robusta prices dropped by 162 USD/ton to 4,118 USD/ton (approximately 108,000 VND/kg). Arabica prices for the December 2025 contract fell by 340 USD/ton to 7,760 USD/ton.
Recent trading sessions have seen coffee prices fluctuate wildly, making trend predictions challenging.
Domestic coffee prices today are expected to decrease from the previous level of 114,300 VND/kg before the London market opened.
Over the past week, coffee prices on the London market have fallen more sharply than domestic prices, with domestic prices remaining higher than those on the international market.
This disparity has made it difficult to match export contracts, especially as Vietnam approaches its harvest season, with significant volumes expected to hit the market from November 2025 onward.

Proposal to Exempt Coffee Imports from U.S. Taxes
The coffee market is influenced not only by supply and demand but also by import policies. Recently, U.S. House representatives proposed legislation to exempt all coffee and related products from import taxes.
The exemption would cover roasted coffee, decaffeinated coffee, coffee husks, and coffee-containing substitutes.
This move comes in response to a 21% surge in U.S. coffee prices in August 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, driven by a 50% retaliatory tariff imposed by the U.S. on Brazilian coffee, which supplies nearly 30% of U.S. import needs.
According to the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Council (Cecafé), Brazil’s specialty coffee exports to the U.S. in August 2025 totaled over 21,600 bags, an 80% decline from August 2024, due to prohibitively high import costs forcing many U.S. roasters and importers to delay or cancel contracts.
Brazilian coffee businesses are urging their government to negotiate with U.S. authorities to resolve these issues and restore trade flows. If successful, coffee prices could stabilize.
