As Vietnam strives to achieve its Net Zero target by 2050, green transportation is emerging as an inevitable trend, with many businesses considering it a cornerstone of their ESG strategies. Driven by a commitment to support the nation and a vision for sustainable development, numerous companies have partnered with strategic allies to implement green solutions in real-world operations.

Today, on September 25th, during the “Green Transportation Transition – Breakthrough Investment Opportunities” seminar, part of the HCMC Business Summit 2025 organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Young Business Association (YBA HCM) in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Women Entrepreneurs Association (HAWEE), PNJ officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with three strategic partners: VinFast, GSM, and V-Green.

Under the MOU, PNJ will collaborate with VinFast to encourage employees to switch their personal vehicles to electric options through introductory events, test drives, and exclusive purchase incentives for VinFast electric cars and motorcycles.

With GSM, the partnership focuses on green mobility and logistics solutions.

Specifically, PNJ will prioritize GSM electric taxis for internal travel and business logistics, while also sponsoring Green SM travel codes for employees and customers, fostering eco-friendly commuting habits. Both parties will jointly promote green living messages to the community.

Simultaneously, PNJ and V-Green will develop electric charging infrastructure at PNJ stores, offices, and factories. Installation will comply with legal regulations and obtain necessary approvals, ensuring convenience for employees and customers.

By implementing solutions spanning personal vehicles, logistics, and charging infrastructure, PNJ aims to optimize internal operations while promoting green transportation across its ecosystem and the broader community.

Company representatives emphasized that this collaboration aligns with PNJ’s 12 key ESG themes and its “Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Commitment” approved by the Board in 2025. PNJ pledges to reduce emission intensity by 15.8% by 2030 (vs. 2023), conduct regular emission audits, and achieve Net Zero for Scope 1 and 2 by 2050.

Valued at $480 million by Brand Finance in 2024, PNJ operates 428 stores and has demonstrated robust growth over the past decade.

Earlier, Vietcombank partnered with GSM and VinBus to launch internal electric bus routes, expanding green transportation infrastructure and services.
