On September 23rd in Ho Chi Minh City, Sun PhuQuoc Airways, an airline backed by Sun Group, hosted its first nationwide agent seminar. This event marks the beginning of a series of workshops across Vietnam’s three regions, aimed at unveiling the airline’s distribution strategy and preparing for ticket sales. Officially, ticket sales will commence on October 15th, with the inaugural commercial flight scheduled for November 1, 2025.

Initially, Sun PhuQuoc Airways will focus on domestic routes, including Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi – Phu Quoc, Ho Chi Minh City – Phu Quoc, Hanoi – Da Nang, and additional routes such as Ho Chi Minh City – Van Don and Da Nang – Phu Quoc.

The airline plans to expand its network to international destinations starting in 2026, connecting Phu Quoc directly to Seoul (South Korea), Taipei (Taiwan, China), Bangkok, Singapore, and Hong Kong (China). By 2027, the network is expected to extend to India, the Middle East, Russia, and Europe.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways has already received 3 out of the 7 aircraft planned for operation in 2025, including A320CEO, A321CEO, and A321NEO models. Additional aircraft are scheduled to join the fleet in 2026 to support international expansion, with wide-body aircraft set to be introduced from 2031 for long-haul routes.

The Ho Chi Minh City event attracted numerous travel agents, tour operators, online platforms, and payment and transportation partners. Subsequent seminars will take place in Da Nang on September 25th and Hanoi on September 27th.

Previously, on August 19, 2025, the airline welcomed two Airbus A321CEO aircraft at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi. This marked the second delivery of new aircraft within just 9 days, following the arrival of the first A321CEO on August 10th.

These aircraft are part of the planned fleet of 8 planes to be operational this year.

Legally and strategically, Sun PhuQuoc Airways obtained its air transport license from the Ministry of Construction on June 13, 2025, with an investment capital of approximately 2.5 trillion VND, including 1 trillion VND from the principal investor.

The airline aims to operate as a full-service carrier while also offering charter flights as needed. Its route network is designed to connect Phu Quoc with major domestic cities and key international markets.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways plans to develop its network using a “hub-and-spoke” model, positioning Phu Quoc as the central hub linking to major tourism and economic destinations domestically and internationally. With Phu Quoc’s recent designation as a special administrative region under An Giang Province and its selection as the host for APEC 2027, the airline’s modern fleet is expected to enhance air connectivity, boost tourism, and attract investment.
