According to Đồng Nai Newspaper, the aircraft with the registration number B350 approached runway number 1 at approximately 6:10 AM, initiating a month-long calibration flight campaign. This crucial process ensures all technical systems at the airport meet international safety standards.

Calibration flights are a mandatory technical step, playing a pivotal role in inspecting, evaluating, and perfecting aviation equipment systems. This meticulous process guarantees absolute safety before the airport officially commences operations.

As approved by the Operations Department (Ministry of National Defense), the calibration flights will take place from September 26th to October 24th, 2025. The Beech King Air 350ER aircraft was selected for this mission due to its exceptional maneuverability, high stability, and ability to meet stringent technical requirements.

Air Traffic Management Technical Company (ATTECH), a subsidiary of Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), will collaborate with experts from the Czech Republic’s Air Navigation Academy. Together, they will calibrate critical systems, including: two Instrument Landing System/Distance Measuring Equipment (ILS/DME) systems, Very High Frequency Omnidirectional Range/Distance Measuring Equipment (VOR/DME), airport lighting systems, radar surveillance systems, ADS-B, and various related flight procedures.

To ensure utmost safety, a coordination conference was held on September 16th, bringing together representatives from VATM, the Long Thanh Airport Project Management Board (ACV), and the 370th Air Division to finalize procedures and collaboration plans.

Upon completion of Phase 1, Long Thanh Airport will have the capacity to serve 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tons of cargo annually. This will significantly alleviate the burden on Tan Son Nhat Airport and establish Long Thanh as a major international aviation hub in the region. As directed by the Prime Minister, the project is expected to be substantially completed by the end of 2025 and commence commercial operations in the first half of 2026.
