1. Van Don – Mong Cai Expressway: Connecting the Capital Hanoi to the Bustling Border Economic Zone
The Van Don – Mong Cai Expressway, inaugurated in 2022, spans over 80 km with a total investment of nearly VND 12,771 billion. Its construction was completed in just 2 years after land clearance.



The expressway reduces travel time from Mong Cai border town to Quang Ninh province’s center from 3 hours to 1.5 hours, and to Hanoi to approximately 3 hours.
Additionally, the Van Don – Mong Cai Expressway, integrated with the Van Don – Ha Long Expressway and Bach Dang Bridge, connects to the Hai Phong – Hanoi Expressway. This enhances Quang Ninh’s connectivity and trade from the capital to the border region, fostering economic development in areas along the route.
2. Love Bridge and Dawn Bridge: Unlocking Urban and Tourism Potential in Luc Bay




Love Bridge and Dawn Bridge, with total investments of over VND 2,100 billion and VND 1,700 billion respectively, are located along Luc Bay, connecting the old urban center of Ha Long City and the industrial and urban complex of Hoanh Bo District.
These bridges, constructed and inaugurated between 2020 and 2025, help Quang Ninh develop urban spaces along Luc Bay, fostering growth in wards such as Hong Gai, Cao Xanh, Hoanh Bo, and Giong Day.
Quang Ninh is planning to invest in a coastal road along Luc Bay with a total investment of over VND 5,400 billion, aiming to attract investment for new urban developments in the northern area of Luc Bay and to leverage land potential.
3. Ha Long – Cam Pha Coastal Road: Connecting Two Major Urban Centers in Quang Ninh
The Ha Long – Cam Pha Coastal Road, opened on April 30, 2023, stretches 18.7 km with 6 lanes and a total investment of over VND 3,000 billion. It connects Ha Long and Cam Pha cities, as well as Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay, reducing pressure on National Highway 18 and creating a unique tourism landscape.
This road has spurred numerous infrastructure, resort, and residential projects, forming modern and intelligent satellite urban areas.




The road features two pairs of 235-meter-long tunnels through mountains, preserving the natural landscape by avoiding mountain blasting.
4. Ao Tien Port: Opening Tourism Potential in Bai Tu Long Bay
Ao Tien Port, located in the center of Van Don Special Economic Zone, was inaugurated on October 30, 2022, and began commercial operations on March 1, 2023. With a total investment of over VND 610 billion, it serves tourism routes from Van Don to islands and attractions in Bai Tu Long and Ha Long Bays.




The port has 5 berths, including 2 berths for large vessels (up to 300 seats) and 3 for smaller boats. The passenger terminal covers 8,000 m², designed to handle 2.6 million visitors annually by 2025 and 3.2 million by 2030.
Quang Ninh is developing tourism routes connecting Bai Tu Long and Ha Long Bays, promoting economic transition from brown to green.
5. Social Housing Project in Doi Ngan Hang Urban Area: Launching Quang Ninh’s Social Housing Initiative
The Social Housing Project in Doi Ngan Hang Urban Area, the first of its kind in Quang Ninh, is located in Ha Lam Ward with a total investment of nearly VND 1,400 billion. It aims to provide affordable housing for workers, fulfilling their dream of homeownership.
The project covers nearly 26,000 m², including 7,400 m² for construction, 5,000 m² for greenery, and 13,300 m² for technical infrastructure. It features 3 apartment buildings (2 with 19 floors and 1 with 17 floors), providing 986 apartments, of which 790 are social housing units for low-income earners.




Quang Ninh aims to build nearly 18,000 social housing units by 2030. Following this project, another social housing complex in Ha Khanh Ward is planned, covering 15,255.6 m² with an 850-unit apartment building, catering to 3,400 residents and costing over VND 967 billion.
6. Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Plant: Aspiring to Make Quang Ninh a Major Auto Manufacturing Hub
The Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Plant is a key project within the Thanh Cong Viet Hung Auto and Supporting Industry Complex, with an investment of VND 8,679 billion. It aims to become a major auto production center in Vietnam, with a capacity of 120,000 vehicles per year.




Construction began in early 2023, and trial operations started in late 2024. The plant will produce Skoda vehicles, creating jobs and contributing to local revenue. Quang Ninh aims to establish itself as a major auto manufacturing hub, integrating into the global auto supply chain.
The 16th Quang Ninh Provincial Party Congress, held from September 25 to 27, 2025, gathered 366 delegates representing over 104,000 party members. The event focused on reviewing the 2020-2025 term and setting goals for 2025-2030, including contributions to the 14th National Party Congress.
