According to the plan, Dong Hoi Airport will cease operations from 1 PM to 10 PM on September 28th; Tho Xuan from 10 PM on September 28th to 7 AM on September 29th; Phu Bai from 8 AM to 2 PM on September 28th; and Da Nang from 6 AM to 11 AM on September 28th. Other airports such as Noi Bai, Van Don, Cat Bi, and Chu Lai are required to regularly update their status to be ready to respond if the storm changes direction or intensifies.

The Civil Aviation Authority has directed industry units to maintain 24/7 operations, implement disaster response procedures, and inspect infrastructure, communication systems, and equipment to ensure the safety of personnel, assets, and flight operations. Construction areas within airports must halt operations when necessary and prepare contingency plans to address storm-related damages.

The Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation is tasked with enhancing weather forecasting and issuing timely alerts to relevant units. Airlines must closely monitor the storm’s progress to adjust flight schedules and collaborate with service providers to minimize risks and ensure passenger safety.

In reality, numerous flights have already been rescheduled. Vietnam Airlines announced that on September 28th, flights VN1597 (Hanoi – Dong Hoi) and VN1404 (Ho Chi Minh City – Dong Hoi) will depart early at 5:30 AM; VN1590 (Dong Hoi – Hanoi) at 7:10 AM; and VN1405 (Dong Hoi – Ho Chi Chi Minh City) at 7:45 AM. On the same day, flight VN7270 (Ho Chi Minh City – Tho Xuan) will take off at 7 AM, and VN7271 (Tho Xuan – Ho Chi Minh City) will be rescheduled to 9:25 AM.

Additionally, Vietnam Airlines has canceled all flights to and from Phu Bai on September 28th and suspended services to Da Nang until 12 PM on the same day. Several other domestic and international flights have also been affected. The airline advises passengers to keep their seatbelts fastened throughout the flight, even when the sign is off, to reduce risks associated with air turbulence during adverse weather conditions.

Airports projected to be directly impacted by Typhoon No. 10 include Tho Xuan, Vinh, and Dong Hoi Airports.
