The Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance (HCSIC) has recently announced updates regarding its name, organizational structure, office locations, and management areas, effective from October 1, 2025. As part of this restructuring, HCSIC will retain 33 local social insurance offices while discontinuing operations at 7 others.

Additionally, following the streamlining and reorganization of its operational structure, HCSIC will now consist of 9 specialized departments: Revenue Management and Participant Development Department; Social Insurance Regime Department; Health Insurance Regime Department; Planning and Finance Department; Inspection Department; Human Resources Department; Communication and Participant Support Department; Information Technology and Digital Transformation Department; and the Administrative Office.

The Social Insurance Agency of Ho Chi Minh City has commenced the disbursement of retirement pensions and social insurance allowances for August 2024, with payments being made from the 1st of the month. However, due to the large volume of data that the payment system had to process, there has been a delay in the distribution process.
