Recent Economic Growth in Tay Ninh Province
The People’s Committee of Tay Ninh Province recently announced that the province’s economic growth rate for the first six months of 2025 reached 9.63%, marking the highest growth rate for the first half of the year during the 2021-2025 period. This growth surpasses both the government’s target and the province’s own ambitious double-digit growth scenario.
Notably, as of September 18th, the state budget revenue exceeded 37.413 trillion VND, achieving 100.5% of the central government’s target, and 99.3% of the Provincial People’s Council’s target, representing a 33% increase compared to the same period last year.
Domestic revenue reached over 32.315 trillion VND, exceeding 103% of the central government’s target and 101.5% of the provincial target, with a 35.6% increase year-on-year.
Land use fee collection surpassed 10.171 trillion VND, achieving 173.6% of the assigned target and an 85.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
Total state budget expenditure also reached 27.787 trillion VND, achieving 79.7% of the central government’s target and 78.2% of the provincial target, with a 20.7% increase year-on-year.
According to the 2025 Resolution on the Reorganization of Provincial Administrative Units, approved by the National Assembly and effective from June 12th, Long An and Tay Ninh provinces have merged to form the new Tay Ninh Province, with its political and administrative center located in Tan An.
The new Tay Ninh Province boasts a population of over 3.2 million and a natural area of more than 8,500 km². Stretching from the southwestern border with Cambodia to the gateway of the Mekong Delta, the province holds a strategic position, connecting Ho Chi Minh City with the entire Southwest region and Cambodia through an integrated transportation network.
The 76km-long Ring Road 3, passing through Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Long An, is being accelerated for completion and is expected to open to traffic in 2026.
The new Tay Ninh Province also features a modern inter-regional expressway network, including the Ho Chi Minh City – Trung Luong, Ben Luc – Long Thanh, and Duc Hoa – Chon Thanh expressways, all of which are under urgent construction.
Notably, the Ho Chi Minh City – Moc Bai Expressway, serving as a vital link between the southwestern border region and the southern economic hub, is set to commence construction soon. In the future, the Moc Bai – Ho Chi Minh City Expressway will be extended to integrate into the Trans-Asian axis, opening up a trade corridor between Cambodia, Vietnam, and international seaports.
