On September 27th, hundreds of fishing vessels from Quang Ngai province docked at Tinh Hoa port, seeking shelter from Typhoon Bualoi (internationally known as Typhoon No. 10).

Upon reaching the shore, braving the heavy rain, fishermen swiftly unloaded their catch from the holds, sorting and selling it directly to traders at the port.

Fisherman Chau Minh Hai, a resident of Tra Cau ward, shared that after a month of fishing in the Hoang Sa waters, upon hearing news of Typhoon No. 10 approaching the East Sea, he and his crew decided to halt fishing operations and return to land. “Our vessel docked this morning, and all the fish were hastily sold to traders to ‘escape’ the storm. After securing the boat in the safe anchorage, we can finally rest and hope the typhoon passes quickly,” said Mr. Hai.

While unloading fish from the hold, Le Tuan Chung, a fisherman from An Phu commune, Quang Ngai province, and owner of vessel QNg 92608TS, shared: “My boat was fishing for flying fish in the Truong Sa waters. We had only been out for 17 days when we heard about the typhoon and rushed back to find a safe anchorage. This storm is massive, with waves crashing violently.”

As the rain intensified, fishermen continued to urgently sell their catch before Typhoon No. 10 made landfall.

Traders’ vehicles were stationed at the port, ready to transport the seafood to market.

After unloading their catch, all fishing vessels were securely anchored in the safe shelter area.

According to the latest report, Quang Ngai currently has 324 fishing vessels with 3,835 laborers operating in various sea areas. All vessels have received updates on the typhoon’s movement and path. Currently, 26 vessels in dangerous zones are rushing to safe shelters.
