At the Vietnam Card Day 2025 press conference held on September 26th, journalist Phung Cong Suong, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, addressed the question: Why did the organizing committee choose “One Touch – A Million Trusts” as the theme for the 2025 event, and what does this theme signify in the context of the growing digital and cashless payment landscape? He explained that the theme selection process involved extensive consultations with various stakeholders, notably the Payment Department of the State Bank of Vietnam.

The core focus of the event is to serve the masses and cater to the public. Technology, while essential, is merely a tool to serve humanity; humans, with their hearts and emotions, remain superior. Therefore, the organizing committee aims for banks and service providers to not only deliver advanced technology but also create positive experiences and emotions for users.

“The most fundamental positive emotion is trust. When consumers trust the transparency, safety, and security of their financial information, they willingly embrace and use the services. Conversely, without this trust, slogans and appeals have limited impact. Thus, the program’s guiding principle is encapsulated in the message: ‘One Touch – A Million Trusts.’ This message embodies trust within individuals, between users and banks/service providers, and across society and nations,” stated journalist Phung Cong Suong.

“The organizing committee’s key emphasis is that technology is a means to an end, but it must always prioritize positive emotions and experiences for users,” added the Co-Chair of Vietnam Card Day 2025.

Regarding the breakthroughs expected from Vietnam Card Day 2025, journalist Phung Cong Suong noted that entering its fifth year, the event poses significant challenges for organizers. Rapid technological advancements make innovative ideas a constant struggle.

However, the event’s core spirit remains the promotion of positive values within the community, especially among the youth. Gen Z, eager to explore and experiment with new technology, leads the way in adopting payment technologies.

With this in mind, the organizing committee has introduced several highlights for this year’s event:

Technology Showcase: Featuring 24 banks and credit institutions, the event will display the latest payment technologies.

Hands-On Experience: Tens of thousands of students will have the opportunity to engage with and experience new technologies firsthand.

Cashless Payments: Building on past successes, all booths will exclusively accept non-cash payments.

Tech Music Night: As part of a three-day event (weather permitting), a large-scale concert is planned, attracting 5,000–7,000 attendees. This event will not only create an electrifying atmosphere but also pioneer digital payment applications, amplifying the event’s message.

Journalist Phung Cong Suong also highlighted Resolution No. 57 issued by the Politburo on December 22, 2024, which sets ambitious goals for Vietnam’s digital transformation. By 2030, Vietnam aims to be a leading regional digital economy and society, and by 2045, a high-income, developed nation driven by science, technology, and innovation.

“Vietnam Card Day 2025, with its theme ‘One Touch – A Million Trusts,’ is a tangible effort to bring Resolution No. 57 to life by promoting digital payment habits, fostering societal trust, and laying the groundwork for future technological and financial breakthroughs,” emphasized the Co-Chair of Vietnam Card Day 2025.
