Unveiling the Mystery: Nearly 10,000 Untraceable Mooncakes Discovered in Da Nang

In just three days, the Economic Police Department of Da Nang City uncovered nearly 10,000 mooncakes of unknown origin and over 6,000 expired confectionery products.

The Economic Police Department of Da Nang City Police, in collaboration with local authorities, has conducted inspections and taken action against several establishments producing and selling mooncakes in violation of food safety regulations.

Over a three-day period (from September 23 to 25), the Economic Police Department worked closely with relevant units to gather information and evidence, leading to the discovery and handling of four cases of violations.

On September 23, authorities inspected C.M.T. Co., Ltd. (Thang Dien Commune). The company failed to provide invoices or documents proving the origin of over 4,000 mooncakes, as well as product self-declaration files or raw material origin invoices. Additionally, more than 6,000 expired confectionery items were found on the premises.

The same day, police inspected M.H. mooncake production facility (Thang Dien Commune), discovering nearly 500 assorted mooncakes without proper product self-declaration or raw material origin invoices.

On September 24, the Economic Police Department inspected H.S. bakery (Thang Binh Commune), finding nearly 5,000 baked mooncakes without quality declarations or raw material origin invoices. The facility was also found to be in violation of wastewater treatment regulations.

On September 25, K.A.P. Trading and Service Co., Ltd. (Ban Thach Ward) was inspected, revealing the production and sale of nearly 500 assorted mooncakes without proper product self-declaration or raw material origin invoices.
