This information was announced by Vietnam Airlines in an invitation for consulting services regarding the capital transfer plan at Skypec. Accordingly, the national airline plans to sell shares through a public auction, with the transaction expected to be completed between now and 2027.

This is not the first time Vietnam Airlines has mentioned divesting from Skypec. Two years ago, the airline also announced this plan but did not specify the intended sale ratio.

Previously, in mid-2023, the Government requested the Committee for Management of State Capital at Enterprises to consider transferring Skypec from Vietnam Airlines to the National Energy Group (PVN).

Skypec owns a storage system with a capacity of 200,000 m³, currently operating in 18 domestic airports and 4 major international airports in South Korea.

The company supplies fuel to all domestic airlines and nearly 100 international carriers flying to Vietnam. Last year, Skypec delivered nearly 1.6 million tons of aviation fuel, achieving a revenue of VND 35,270 billion and a post-tax profit of over VND 268 billion. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, the company recorded a profit of over VND 650 billion in 2019.

Skypec’s Business Performance from 2017 to 2024

Skypec, alongside Petrolimex Aviation, is one of the leading aviation fuel suppliers in Vietnam. The market also includes the participation of Tan Son Nhat Petroleum Trading Joint Stock Company (Tapetco) – 38% owned by SASCO (UPCoM: SAS), and Noi Bai Aviation Fuel Service Joint Stock Company (NAFSC). However, the supply volume of these two companies remains significantly lower compared to the industry leaders.
