On the afternoon of September 30th, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) held a ceremony to announce personnel decisions. The event was chaired by Nguyen Van Duoc, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee.

During the ceremony, a representative from the HCMC Department of Home Affairs announced the Chairman’s decision to appoint the Director and Deputy Directors of the Department of Planning and Architecture.

Accordingly, Vo Hoang Ngan, Director of the HCMC Department of Construction, was reassigned and appointed as Director of the Department of Planning and Architecture.

The newly appointed Deputy Directors of the Department of Planning and Architecture include Truong Trung Kien, Phan Van Tuan, Duong Thao Hien, and Huynh Pham Tuan Anh. Prior to their new roles, all four officials served as Deputy Directors of the HCMC Department of Construction.

Mr. Vo Hoang Ngan appointed as Director of the HCMC Department of Planning and Architecture

Born in 1978, Vo Hoang Ngan graduated from the Faculty of Construction at HCMC University of Technology. Prior to his current role, he held positions such as Vice Chairman of Thu Dau Mot City People’s Committee, Deputy Director of Binh Duong Province’s Department of Construction, Director of Binh Duong Province’s Department of Construction, and Deputy Head of the former Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee’s Organization Board.

Following the consolidation of HCMC, Binh Duong, and Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Vo Hoang Ngan was appointed Director of the HCMC Department of Construction.

Earlier, during the 4th session (specialized session) of the 10th HCMC People’s Council (term 2021-2026) held on September 29th, the Council approved a resolution establishing the HCMC Department of Planning and Architecture.

The new department was formed by transferring specific functions and responsibilities from the HCMC Department of Construction.
