The automotive market in August witnessed a downturn across various segments, including compact MPVs. Compared to July, sales in this segment plummeted by 29.4%, with only 2,549 units sold nationwide.
To revive sales, manufacturers ramped up promotional campaigns early in the month. This effort led to a slight sales uptick for models like the Hyundai Stargazer and Suzuki XL7 in August.
As September rolled in, all compact MPV models intensified their promotional efforts to attract customers. Among them, the Suzuki XL7 emerged as one of the most discounted vehicles.

A survey of Suzuki dealerships in Ho Chi Minh City revealed that the XL7 Hybrid is being offered with a discount of up to 70 million VND, including a 100% registration fee waiver and a 10 million VND cash rebate. After discounts, the price of this 7-seater vehicle drops from 599.9 million VND to 529.9 million VND.
According to sales consultants, this promotion applies to both the 2025 production year (VIN 2025) and the newly launched XL7 Hybrid Black Edition. This special edition features an all-black exterior, commemorating Suzuki Vietnam’s 30th anniversary.

The price of around 530 million VND is considered quite accessible for a 7-seater vehicle, catering to both family and commercial service needs. This price even rivals some B-segment sedans like the Honda City, which is currently priced at approximately 512 million VND for its top variant after discounts.
Within the hybrid segment, the Suzuki XL7 stands out as the most affordable option. It is also the third best-selling hybrid vehicle in the market year-to-date, with cumulative sales reaching 1,596 units.
However, in its primary segment of compact MPVs, the Suzuki XL7 Hybrid is lagging in the sales race. By the end of August 2025, this Japanese MPV ranked sixth in the segment, trailing behind the Hyundai Stargazer (2,168 units), Kia Carens (2,400 units), Honda BR-V (2,572 units), Toyota Veloz Cross (4,593 units), and Mitsubishi Xpander (10,646 units).
