The project site was previously located in Binh Duong Province, encompassing Binh My and Tan Lap communes (Bac Tan Uyen District) and Hoi Nghia Ward (Tan Uyen City).
Spanning approximately 786 hectares, the project is a concentrated industrial zone specializing in mechanical manufacturing. It is projected to create over 32,000 jobs.
In terms of boundaries, the project is bordered to the east by rubber plantations (adjacent to DT.745 – Ring Road 5); to the west by rubber plantations and residential areas (adjacent to Urban Development Zone 3); to the south by DT 746F Road; and to the north by rubber plantations (adjacent to Bac Tan Uyen 4 Industrial Park).

Rendering of the Specialized Mechanical Industrial Park.
In June 2025, the People’s Committee of Binh Duong Province (formerly) granted an investment approval decision for the Specialized Mechanical Industrial Park to Thadico Binh Duong, a member of the Thaco Group.
With a total investment of over 75 trillion VND (approximately 3 billion USD), including 12.8 trillion VND allocated for infrastructure development, the project is situated within the Southern Key Economic Region. Partial operations are expected to commence by September 2026.
According to Thaco Group’s website, the Specialized Mechanical Industrial Park is designed as a next-generation, modern, green, and smart industrial zone, integrating automation, digital platforms, and artificial intelligence (AI). The project aims for sustainable development and a closed-loop ecosystem.
This large-scale, all-in-one production model will be a regional hub, featuring: a Product Research and Development Center (50 ha); a Mechanical Manufacturing Center (400 ha); and a Center for Next-Generation Supporting Industries (160 ha).
Additionally, Thaco has designated a 200+ hectare area for joint ventures and partnerships in producing finished mechanical products, leveraging advanced technology, materials, components, and manufacturing processes.
Since 2003, Thaco has invested in Chu Lai, transforming it into a large-scale, integrated mechanical and supporting industrial park over 23 years. Building on this experience, Thaco is now investing in the Specialized Mechanical Industrial Park in Binh Duong (now part of Ho Chi Minh City), aiming to establish a major mechanical hub that drives the growth of the mechanical manufacturing sector in the Southern region.
