Vietnam’s selection as the host country for the FIATA World Congress 2025 marks a significant milestone, underscoring its growing prominence in the global supply chain. Under the theme “Green Logistics, Rapid Adaptation,” the congress is set to gather over 1,000 delegates from 150 countries, including leading global logistics and transportation corporations. Key industry challenges such as digital transformation, green logistics, and sustainable supply chain management will be extensively discussed.

In the global landscape, cross-border e-commerce has emerged as a vital growth driver, reaching a market size of $791.5 billion by the end of 2024, with projections of over 30% annual growth in the coming years. This presents a golden opportunity for manufacturers, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, to expand globally. However, logistics remains a critical factor: only with modern, transparent, and cost-effective infrastructure can Vietnamese products compete effectively and reach global consumers swiftly.

Within the framework of FIATA World Congress 2025, the theme “Logistics for Cross-Border E-Commerce: Trends and Optimal Solutions” stands out as a key highlight. Cross-border e-commerce not only opens new growth avenues but also directly aligns with Vietnam’s digital export goals and global integration strategy.

Speaking on this theme, Ms. Nguyễn Thị Hoài An, Vice Chair of the Global Cross-Border E-Commerce Alliance (ACBC Global) and Chair of ACBC Vietnam, emphasized: “Cross-border e-commerce is not just the new infrastructure of global trade but also the ‘extended arm’ of globalization, enabling borderless circulation of products and values.” According to her, this is Vietnam’s “golden moment to break through,” leveraging strategic advantages such as its favorable geographical location, abundant resources, young workforce, and rapid digital transformation capabilities.

From an international business perspective, Mr. Xiao Qiuli, CEO of Guangdong Global Shopping E-Commerce Co., Ltd. (GGBingo), noted:
“Vietnamese businesses can leverage e-commerce models to swiftly enhance their global competitiveness. Effectively utilizing platforms like Amazon, TikTok Shop, Lazada, Shopee, and JD.com will increase market reach and optimize sales.” This insight further highlights the potential of cross-border markets with the growing participation of Vietnamese enterprises.

In reality, on Amazon alone, over 17 million Vietnamese products have been sold in the past two years, with revenue increasing by more than 50%. These figures not only reflect the growing competitiveness of Vietnamese goods but also demonstrate the expanding global demand for high-quality, traceable products. However, to transform this potential into tangible strength, the logistics system must be modernized, transparent, and agile enough to keep pace with global trade dynamics.

From the regulatory perspective, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thị Thắng stressed:
“Many Vietnamese local brands and products have established a strong presence on domestic e-commerce platforms and are beginning to conquer international markets through global platforms.” This is a positive sign but also a reminder of the need to further enhance logistics infrastructure, support cost optimization for businesses, and sustainably expand markets.

In this context, FIATA World Congress 2025 in Hanoi is not just an annual global logistics event but also a gateway for Vietnam to align strategic vision with concrete actions. The participation of over 1,000 international delegates, from leading logistics corporations to policymakers and experts, will provide an opportunity to delve into practical solutions for cross-border e-commerce.

With geo-economic advantages such as an extensive coastline, deep-water ports, the Asian Highway Network, and international airports, Vietnam has the potential to become a new regional logistics hub. This year’s congress serves as a launchpad to realize this ambition through collaborative initiatives, new standards, and strong global commitments.

FIATA World Congress 2025 will not only showcase Vietnam’s robust integration into the global economy but also provide Vietnamese products with the shortest path to international markets. As cross-border e-commerce becomes an irreversible trend, logistics is the key to unlocking this door. This October, Hanoi will witness Vietnam seizing this opportunity to propel its goods and national brands onto the global stage.
