While the trading market remains sluggish, HAC shares of Hai Phong Securities JSC (Haseco) have unexpectedly surged. The stock price jumped 6.45% to VND 13,200 per share during the morning session on October 1, though liquidity was minimal at just 1,000 units.

This upward momentum follows Haseco’s approval of a private placement plan to issue 100 million shares, aiming to raise VND 1 trillion. If successful, the company’s charter capital will increase from nearly VND 292 billion to approximately VND 1,292 billion, a 4.4-fold increase.

The offering is slated for 2025 or, at the latest, Q1 2026, at a price of VND 10,000 per share. The proceeds will be allocated equally: VND 500 billion for margin lending and VND 500 billion for proprietary trading, with full disbursement post-issuance.

Among the 17 professional investors registered, several key leaders are participating, including Chairman Dao Le Huy, Independent Board Member Nguyen Tuan Anh, Acting CEO Ninh Le Son Hai, and Deputy CEO Ngo Thi Song Ngan. Each is expected to purchase approximately 6.15–6.25 million shares.

Notably, all four senior executives were newly appointed or elected in late June 2025, during Haseco’s leadership overhaul. Mr. Hai assumed the role of Acting CEO after stepping down as Chairman. Concurrently, Ly Thi Thu Ha, Le Ngoc Hai, Nguyen Thi Mai, and Chu Viet Ha resigned from their Board positions.

Haseco announced its capital increase plan shortly after reporting Q2 profits, ending four consecutive quarters of losses. In Q2 2025, the company recorded a significant improvement with a profit of VND 44 billion. For the full year, Haseco targets VND 72 billion in revenue and VND 4.1 billion in pre-tax profit, up 12% and 49% respectively from 2024. Remarkably, Q2 profits alone exceeded the annual pre-tax profit target by over 10 times.
