The Asian Technology Excellence Awards 2025 not only celebrates the achievements of the engineering team at NAB Innovation Centre Vietnam but also underscores Vietnam’s growing prominence as a regional hub for technological innovation. According to Asian Business Review, the organizer of the awards, NAB Innovation Centre Vietnam’s victory is well-deserved, with its Pay by Bank solution showcasing exceptional scalability and future-oriented design. “This solution is a driving force behind the digital transformation in banking and e-commerce,” Asian Business Review noted.
“The Pay by Bank solution is the result of a close collaboration between NAB’s Australian team and our talented engineers in Vietnam. It has been successfully implemented with major partners like Amazon Australia, making banking transactions faster, safer, and more convenient for customers,” said Ms. Trần Minh Hạnh, General Director of NAB Innovation Centre Vietnam, at the Asian Technology Excellence Awards 2025 ceremony.
NAB Vietnam’s engineers are actively involved in cutting-edge projects, ranging from mobile banking app development to artificial intelligence and cloud migration. “Our engineers have played a pivotal role in developing National Australia Bank’s latest mobile banking application. This is why NAB Innovation Centre Vietnam is attracting not only top Vietnamese talent but also professionals from across the region and globally,” Ms. Hạnh added.
From Vision to Achievement
For investors tracking Vietnam’s rapid technological advancements, NAB Innovation Centre Vietnam’s story is a standout success. Since 2019, NAB, one of Australia’s largest financial institutions, chose Vietnam to establish its first innovation center outside Australia. In just six years, NAB Innovation Centre Vietnam has grown to over 2,200 employees and engineers, operating from two world-class offices in Capital Place (Hanoi) and The Hallmark (Ho Chi Minh City).
The center’s success highlights Vietnam’s rising influence in global technological innovation and reinforces the importance of the Australia-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

NAB Vietnam Empowering Vietnamese Tech Talent
Vietnam’s young, dynamic, and adaptable tech workforce provides an ideal platform for innovation. With significant investments in STEM education and digital skills, Vietnam has solidified its position as a regional innovation leader.
Recognizing this potential, NAB Innovation Centre Vietnam has invested heavily in training programs for recent graduates, offering hands-on experience and essential skill development. The StarCamp and WeCamp programs were created to empower young talent to become confident, globally competitive professionals. Over 90% of the 500+ students who participated in StarCamp have been hired as full-time employees at the center.
“We believe sustainable growth is more important than rapid expansion. From the outset, we’ve focused on building a strong foundation through training, capacity building, and adherence to global standards, ensuring a future-ready global workforce strategy,” Ms. Hạnh explained.
