Recently, the Market Management Team No. 4, under the Quang Ninh Market Management Sub-Department, conducted a surprise inspection of the business establishment “Hoang Quyen Weight Loss Milk Tea” along with its online sales account on the Shopee e-commerce platform. During the inspection, authorities discovered 76 boxes of “Viet Milk Tea Denmark” weight loss tea without invoices or documentation. The product packaging claimed “Made in Denmark,” but the barcode search revealed no manufacturer information, only usage instructions.

Samples of the product were sent for testing, and the results confirmed the presence of Sibutramine—a substance banned by the Ministry of Health in food products due to its severe risks to cardiovascular health and the nervous system. The total value of the seized goods was approximately 40 million VND, while the business’s estimated e-commerce revenue reached nearly 1 billion VND.

Given the criminal implications of the case, Team No. 4 collaborated with the People’s Procuracy and the Provincial Police to classify and proceed with legal actions.

The case has been transferred to the Tax Authority for further verification and processing in accordance with the law.
