The Hanoi People’s Committee has announced a series of key projects to commemorate the 71st anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 – October 10, 2025).

From October 4 to 10, the city will commence 8 major projects in transportation and urban development, including:

The Co Linh Underpass Construction Project, starting on October 4, is led by the Hanoi Transportation Infrastructure Investment Project Management Board. The underpass will be built at the intersection of Co Linh Street and the roads connecting Vinh Tuy Bridge and Dam Quang Trung Street, facilitating traffic flow from Vinh Tuy towards Dam Quang Trung. The underpass will feature a 6-lane design with a total width of 27.1 meters, accommodating 3 lanes on each side (10.5 meters each). The project also includes widening the surrounding roads by adjusting sidewalks, central medians, and adding lanes on both sides to maximize road capacity.

Co Linh Underpass construction begins on October 4

The Pearl Theater and Thematic Arts Park Project, breaking ground on October 5, is developed by Sun City Limited Company. The project spans 191,241 square meters, with 182,020 square meters dedicated to the theater and park. Phase 1 includes the Pearl Theater complex (93,339 sqm), followed by Phase 2 featuring the Thematic Arts Park (88,680 sqm). Additional facilities include a parking area (4,016 sqm) and access roads (5,205 sqm).

The Compensation, Resettlement, and Clearance Project for the East Hoan Kiem Lake Plaza and Park, starting on October 9, is managed by the Hoan Kiem District People’s Committee. The project focuses on plaza development, including ground leveling, paving, landscaping, and parking. Key structures like the Department of Culture and Literature Institute will be preserved, while the relocation of the Lighting House and the temporary retention of two North Power Corporation buildings are under review for Phase 2. The Art Deco architecture of the Hoan Kiem Power Company will also be considered for integration, with potential ground-floor accessibility enhancements. Infrastructure upgrades for water management and lighting are also planned.

The Tran Hung Dao Bridge Construction Project, commencing on October 9, is overseen by the Hanoi Transportation Infrastructure Investment Project Management Board.

The Urban Railway Line 2 Project, spanning from Nam Thang Long to Tran Hung Dao, also starts on October 9, under the management of the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board.
